I came across this recently while reading at another site and I almost couldn't believe this existed.

Invisible Boyfriend

You can now buy a simulated relationship, complete with photos, texts, voice mails and even a handwritten note! Low introductory price of $24.99 per month. Oh, there's also one that provides simulated girlfriend experiences if that's one's preference. Apparently, you can also submit a 'selfie' and be the face of someone's imaginary girlfriend or boyfriend.

I think I can provide myself with a 'simulated girlfriend' experience for much less than that.

the sad thing is not that someone came up with the idea.
The sad thing is there is a demand for it, however small.
But i guess if you want to beak up with your partner but don't have the guts to do it like an adult, you can use this as "evidence" of an affair and get them to break up with you instead.
Oh the ways in witch technology makes our lives easier!

Yeah, because 5 years down the road, that won't come back to bite you. LOL

I'm sorry that this is even a "thing".
But hey, at least there is something for the people that can't actually "deal" with a real person.

I wonder if they ever implement any problems and drama ... To make it as realistic as absolutely possible. Imagine, having a jealous imaginary boyfriend or girlfriend.

sheesh can you imagine being told you are crap in bed by your imaginary virtual other?
or getting the silent treatment because you forgot your anniversary...and the fact that the anniversary is on the day you clicked "i accept the terms and conditions"

I saw it on TV the other day... Crazy stuff! But you know what disturbs me (besides what IShotMyLastMuse already mentioned)?

The whole social media world and its influence on one's "self-confidence". The reason this is a hot item is because you (generic you, not you specifically) can "be somebody" on social media. You can PROVE that you're someone worth loving, even though you know it's all fake. OTHER PEOPLE'S opinion of you is what gives you your opinion of yourself.

You can have selfies, post pics, texts and have a whole make-believe relationship - just to show OTHERS that you're someone. Like how many "friends" you have means something. It's a false sense of self-confidence. If the social media addicts were to suddenly be without their devices, their self-confidence would take a dive to the non-existent!

Crazy world we live in!

Crazy indeed....!

I know and work with people that are always logged in to facebook and constantly looking at their smart phone. It's their world, mode of communication, and simulated contact with reality.

Just how real is the cyber world?

There are various forms of ''virtual relationship'' apparently.

It is a crazy way for a society to operate, especially for developing minds and personalities, can you imagine all the impressionable younger generations where such things are the norm, how pressured are they for behaving a certain way and for putting their lives to public view, it surely isn't constructive development. How many of them actually have their own opinions /style and as for their perception of reality, it is tantamount to living in a fantasy world.

Welcome to generation hashtag-smiley-face-like-omg!

Perhaps ... But cyber relationships / sex already exist
Some such relationships can be by those who pretend to be what they are not also

So it is a form of plagiarism or a genius business idea
