It's amazing how Arpaio continues to avoid any real punishment. Even when he gets busted the only thing that happens is the MCSO gets fined. Which all that means is the people have to pay for it. Arpaio and his cronies have cost the people from Maricopa County several millions dollars due to their flaunting of the law and Constitution. He's like a Mafia don. Even when it looks like he's finally gonna go down for corruption someone else takes the blame for him.

Maybe he's not doing anything illegal.

The sour grapes jealous Liberals might be however.

Nope

ktar.com...

Most corrupt State in the USA and I assure you he's the most corrupt of them all, simply the worst, No conservative vs Liberal stuff here just plain reality this State is impossible.

Only a few states can claim to be more corrupt than Massachusetts and Arizona isn't one of them.

Edit: Wow, I guess I am wrong about that. According to a few sources, this appears to be the case.

Wow Buster why don't you tell us how you really feel?

Living in AZ i'm quite happy with Arpaio, prison shouldn't be all sunshine and unicorns. Cages and hard labor for all criminals citizens or not!

So you are quite happy with the over 40 million in lawsuits he has cost the county so far?

He just trying to get the last word in.

It's no secret that King Obama and his jester Holder have it out for Joe.

All of the stuff against Joe started when Bush was in office. So how does that King Obama whine hold up now?

Oh no he's guilty of a number of crimes. Including crimes against humanity. Detainees are packed together in extremely hot, unventilated rooms. They're served rotten food. And let's not forget there's been at least one death because a person was denied their medication. These people hadn't even been to trial yet and yet Arpaio deemed himself judge, jury, and executioner and the means of death is cruel and unusual punishment.

It absolutely amazes me how many people on this board flock to Arpaio's defense. He openly flaunts all the behaviors we hate about corrupt officials. He squanders taxpayer money. He uses taxpayer money for his own gain. He provides kickbacks to his friends and uses his position to bully his enemies. But most of all he flagrantly violates not only the Constitution but I'm pretty sure the Geneva Convention as well.

It's nothing compared to what the NYPD has cost the tax payers.

I live in AZ and find "Sheriff Joe" an embarrassment ... a brutal, stupid, ignorant, fascist bigot on his better days.

He isn't border patrol, anyway... so why is he involved in illegal immigration?

He's a pawn for the disgusting for profit jail system that does nothing but ensure disenfranchised, anti social citizens upon release and included in that swarm are many, many innocent folks who got jailed for being brown or poor.

One doesn't have to be a "liberal" to dislike his ... essence... one just has to think a little deeper, I guess, which is becoming rarer in AZ, it seems.

ETA and I've found his supporters are mostly angry people who give a nod and a wink to his harassment of the less powerful... which is disgusting, too.

Yee haa.

What does the NYPD have to with this? Isn't NYC quite a bit larger than that area that is under Joe's thumb? Oh yeah the NYPD has paid more the Joe has cost so what is doing is ok is that what you think?

Just like Arpaio going after Obama?

As has been stated time and again Arpaio's problems with the DOJ started before Obama was elected. Also, how does Obama being elected mean it's right to kill someone by withholding medication?

Not according to Judge Neil Wake. In 2008 he ruled that the prison's operated by the MCSO violated the Constitutional rights of the inmates. In 2010 Judge Wake ruled that conditions had not improved. It doesn't get more clear cut than that. A federal judge ruling that you and your office are in violation of the Constitution.
