General Staff of Ukraine: No regular units of the Russian army in Ukraine

29.01.2015 Viktor Muzhenko: "To date, we have only the involvement of some members of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Russian citizens as part of illegal armed groups in the fighting. Military operations do not carry out against the regular Russian army. We have enough forces to inflict a final defeat illegal armed formation".

This is a worthless thread. There are no other reliable
sources.

Should go to the 404 bin in my opinion.

There are plenty of sources reporting the same thing.

You just won't find it on the BBC, CNN, NYT, MSNBC, etc...etc.

I always find it funny how, on a conspiracy site, with all the stories and evidence of MSM distortion and outright lying, people still consider them the "reliable" sources to back up their claims of one thing or another.

Can you post the source for that?

Are you refering to this,

The Russian Defense Ministry, however, was puzzled by a statement from Muzhenko's subordinate, Sergey Galushko, made several hours later. According to Galushko – an employee of the Department of Information Technology – Russian troops are located in the so-called “second echelon.”

From the op article.

its in the op article -

Commenting on Muzhenko’s statement, Galushko said that reporters were only allowed at the open part of the meeting. He said that later, during the closed part, the chief of general staff said that Russian units are “in the second tier.”

Last year Russian soldiers were in Ukraine and some of them were awarded. I work in organisation related to Russian Military Comlex and I with my coworkers had doubts on this issue (most of my colleagues are strong supporters of pro-Russian rebels, but some of them would say we don't help the rebels by sending troops, only by providing military equipment). After getting confirmation from a high-ranked military official who sent his guys there no one denies it. Whether or not our troops are in Ukraine NOW I don't know.

Or misrepresenting what was said by certain media that has no problem doing so.

They represented what was said to them exactly.

They can't misrepresent was was said behind closed doors because they weren't there.

Yes, to resist in Ukraine is to be labeled "Pro Russian". Thats one way we know who's backing who. Resisting the Junta in Kiev is what any ordinary citizen would do if their government was burned out of existence by fringe extremists.

That makes them anti Kiev and anti Coup, not "Pro Russian". That term is used in the west and shows who they really want you to think the enemy is… the Russians.

Thats how you know who's behind the coup also. The US / EU (NATO).

And yet it seems they did.

We weren't there either but we know what was said, so why couldn't it be misrepresentation of what was said?

Well, sh*t, what's this then:
Ukraine chief of staff ‘thwarts Western allegations’ by admitting no combat with Russian troops

The Ukraine army’s chief of staff has admitted that Kiev troops are not engaged in combat with Russian units, thereby thwarting all Western allegations of Moscow's “military invasion,” said Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov.

“Yesterday afternoon the Chief of the General Staff – Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – Viktor Muzhenko officially acknowledged during a briefing for foreign military attachées that Russian troops are not involved in the fighting in the country's southeast,” Konashenkov said on Friday.

U ready?

Heres how you can refute that. They are not there officially. They are on leave without permission(officially) Its also how russia is avoiding paying the families money. SO technically yes there are no"russian troops" they would be called mercenaries anywhere else though.

If 5k members of the US 101st air assault go on vacation with their uniforms and military equipment to Russia do you think Russia would argue its not an invasion?

It's a misrepresentation because it has been said and proven that Russian soldiers are there / were there. So claiming they never were is simply lying. Obviously what is being said is that there is no official Russian army units there. "Volunteers" have been confirmed by Russia itself. We are not talking 50 soldiers, we are talking THOUSANDS of "volunteers". There is no official Russian invasion, but it's as good a word as any to describe what is going on.
