I have had some great cats and dogs in my time; I am of the opinion that - ALL - kids should experience the maximum amount of animals that YOU ... as
a Parent - can offer !
My folks had a stud farm - I was fortunate to have had the good fortune to -
amaze at the night sky whilst petting a horse in the dark - also the benefit of growing cows and sheep for our good and livelihood as did help
others...
but also the harsh realities of mother earth.
Drought means watching your livestock 24/7 especially if water is hard come by ...
It was also taught to me as a youngster - I learned to drive and had my own ute at 12 - for a reason ...
Country life can be cruel - nothing worse than having to take an oxygen starved foal or calf out to a decent gully -
and do the humane thing ...
Or know when a bushfire may strike - 12 yr old's have their uses ! ( gets worse as you get older - but hey. lol )
Bush fire stories are dime a dozen here so - I won't - there is always worse ... That is a reality of life here in Oz.
Same as my original point ... we have some epic animals AND animal stories here in Oz ...
Hope you can share them here ... if they're not shared - they will be lost.
Too much good stuff to let slide ...
Hell has anyone seen "Red Dog" ... lol...
