Hello there ATS!
This thought has crossed my mind on many occasions, I even got into a couple of arguments over how harmful nationalities really are. I won't get into that this time, but what I want to discuss is why we assume a one world government would be a bad thing. Couldn’t it be step forward for humanity in every sense? It doesn't have to be Ingsoc really.
In his book Leviathan, Hobbes talks about how useful a common power is, someone above everyone else who can set the rules and see everyone is doing their part. I’m not advocating for a monarchy or anything of the sort, but as of now, countries are all equal, so they can do whatever they want, it all boils down to who is stronger. That’s the law of the jungle. Russia can take over Crimea, China can take the compromise to lower pollution rates, but there is no power above any of them to force them to do so. America can deploy troops in Afghanistan, who would dare to stop America from doing it, who can Afghanistan turn to? The UN? There’s no common judge to stop injustice in the world.

We could see this new form of global authority as a tool to better the world. Just like a Federal Government sees the wealth is equally distributed between the states or provinces that form a country, a OWG could seek to do the same globally. Erase borders, end racism, xenophobia, territorial disputes, etc.

I don’t really know what are the plans of the TPTB, but couldn’t they seek to do this too? Why are we automatically so pessimistic about it. And even if they are the bad guys, and actually want to kill us all and establish a police state, that still wouldn't make a OWG a bad thing after all, just like a bad president doesn’t make democracy a bad form of government.
Communists supported bourgeois revolutions, because they saw it as an inevitable stage in the process that would ultimately lead to communism. If we look to stop poverty and wars, and make of the world a better place, maybe we should see this whole NWO thing as an inevitable step too.

Looking forward to read some of your insights on the subject.

PS. Sorry for any grammar mistakes, not a native speaker.

Great thought...A group of "elders" could mix into one leadership to lead. I'm in,....... come and split up my stuff.

The way I see it is a one world government would be a good idea for those in control of it and the friends of those in control , look at the corruption rife in countries now and multiply it several fold , I see no real benefit for the ordinary person.

And just who is going to decide how this one-world government will operate? It would have to be someone who is perfectly just, wise, loving, and powerful. It would have to be somebody all peoples trust and respect. It would have to be somebody that cannot be bribed, bought, or coerced. There is not a human or group of humans alive today that can fill the bill.

Maybe some All Powerful Artificial Intelligent Computer could be programmed to do it, but isn't THAT a scary thought.

In essence one world order sounds like a good idea, we could move forward with space exploration and get off this rock, maybe. Money will have to go. Star trek style.

But it will never work out that way, will it!! to many evil characters wanting their own power.

IMO the only being fit to rule over us would be a form of artificial intelligence, devoid of emotions (artificial or not)..it would rule simply through cold hard logic. Our biggest problem however would be if for instance it chose to rid the planet of us to save itself or the planet itself by reasoning that we are the greatest threat of all.

The further away a government gets from the governed, both geographically and mentally, the worse off the governed will be. Government works best at the closest possible location to the governed (even though most of the time it still sucks). This way the people's immediate needs are (supposedly) met.

How can you expect some idiot in another country to understand the local needs of a population? They THINK they can, but they CAN'T. They WANT to control you for the sheer power, but they CAN'T address your concerns. You will be forgotten.

ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT IS SOMETHING WE MUST AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Ron Paul understands these concepts, and has warned us repeatedly of the consequences. All you have to do is listen and GET IT. There are no benefits whatsoever to a one world government, only detriment. The local needs of the people are barely, and rarely, addressed as it is now. How do you think they would fare under some far removed world government who gives no crap at all?

VERY, VERY BAD IDEA.

It already exists in the Western World, they're trying to enforce it on the rest of the World, but the Middle East are resisting, China likes the money, but not the false democracy and Russia aren't too happy about it creeping ever closer.

Still, it will come about sooner or later, like if there was a threat from an Alien race who were malevolent, or possibly as a result of WWIII.

Would it be good? Probably on the face of it, there could be benefits, but my guess is it would simply draw back the curtain to expose the Wizard is a fake.

Someone wants world wide authority?
Is that the question?

Then hold elections now.

No, really. Hold elections right now. Why wait. Why all the back and forth. What is the deal with all the posturing and speeches. Where does this feeling come from that who-ever-it-is that wants this world wide authority won't step into the light, and wants us to beg them for it first.

I'll tell you why. Why we don't hold elections right now. Why this isn't done already ... overnight, in the blink of an eye. Why one person one vote hasn't settled the matter already. Or last year, or ten years ago, or last millennia.

Why all the leaders, bankers, inventors, and partisans continue to do all this hand-wringing and moaning for world wide authority. Why they only raise up objections and difficulties to the very ideas they claim to espouse, like one-person one-vote. Some countries don't count women as persons, they say. Some countries don't count sixteen year olds as children they say. Some countries still trade in flesh and wont let those trapped souls vote, they say. "We can't have world wide authority until we get world wide authority", they mean.

And then they will spend a hundred years getting ready to implement world wide authority, all while being immune to prosecution for abuse of world wide authority because they don't have it yet. It's a game. It's a joke. And it's sick.

Put up or shut up. Call for a world wide election, every year, of any write in candidate on a specific date. Say.... January 19th. We have had a world wide telephone service since the 70's ( I believe telephones were put into Lhasa in 1979 ) and people could have been phoning in their votes since then. Why all the foot dragging?

Could it be because then we would actually KNOW who was in charge, and the quiet elusive forces in shadows couldn't pull the strings without consequences anymore?

Just read an article on exactly what a police state with robocops would look like, freedomoutpost.com... There will be nothing left of humanity or freedom if we have a one world order. Please read this and think what direction the elites are heading us all towards. It sounds to me like a giant electronic concentration camp which I personally will not accept.

If existing national governments fail, why would a single NWO government not fail?

Sounds like a cockamamie idea.

Ideals always shatter like glass on concrete.

The bigger they are the harder they fall.

This reminds me of something. The Star Trek remake had young Kirk being chased by a robotic police officer. In the audience during the movie all I heard was wow, amazing, why don't we have them around it's safe, etc, etc.

Wow them and they're too stupid to see they're selling out their future. My gf went to a robotics event in NYC. They had VR that makes you feel like you're flying, she controlled a robot from NYC that was moving in Colorado. All to the delight of yuppies cashing in on their own destruction.

Know what? Let it happen. People cheered it on, the future was already written decades ago, people just believe these things will happen because they've never been allowed to believe in different tomorrows. Drones, implants, transhumanism, all for the benefit of the few while the masses cheer it on.

Convenience=conquest, complacency=conquest. Humanity's already going extinct and we're roaring with approval.

Yes, we are cheering our own extinction and frankly I'm over it though worried its too late, because people I don't think will wake up til the robocop is knocking on their car door, or house, or place of work or, or, or...everywhere, and then what? People need to wake up now!!!!!! Glad someone else see's it, thank you.

Look at the US federal Govt.
Isn't that just a beacon of benevolence and understanding? No nepotism or corruption there.

How about the EU?
Doesn't everything thing seem peachy keen there?

And what about the USSR?
That worked out just swell didn't it?

We cant even do it right for one continent, let alone the whole planet.

It's already proven to be an epic failure, and we never even got past the small scale trials.

A OWG can never happen for many of the prior referenced reasons.

Reasons why it would fail:

1. Religious differences- With many different religions with different values and beliefs how do you get everyone to jive?

2. Cultural differences- One culture covets the individual while another covets good for the masses. (yes I know this is changing)

3. Racial Differences- How do you get people of all races who have differences in the above referenced to assimilate?

4. Corporate Corruption issues- Corporation already rule the roast and in some countries more then others. A OWG would most likely give the corps free reign to further their agenda, profits, at the expsense of the masses.

The only way a OWG could ever be put in place is through a Marxist Socialist approach where people are placed in classes and strict enforcement would have to prevail.

The only other way is a mass extinction threat like alien invasion that we know is coming and have time to prepare for or some other un foreseen mass extinction event like a meteor, comet, or imminent extinction event that agin we have time to prepare for,

The further away from the governed a governing body is, the less responsive it is to their actual needs.

You think the Fed is out of touch? Wait until you get governed by the Hague or similar body on the other side of the world. And the only representative you have is one that everyone in the US elects. Can you imagine having Obama as your only representative to that body? Having to trust him to be your voice? Or maybe someone from the other side of the political divide?

Then understand that there would be a voting block of 1/3 of those world reps who would vote together in solidarity on account of their Islamic faith.

Then understand that the poor nations would vote against the wealthy ones. The despots are going to use the parliamentary procedure to their advantage just like they do now in the UN.

Nope, OWG won't do anything except hose those of us not already living completely under the yoke of government oppression.
