What Russia wants? To be payed for gas delivery?

America wants Europe to buy LNG gas supplies but the LNG gas is more expensive and will be more expensive for ordinary people.

Since about the mid 1980's on up to the present, Russia from time to time cuts off the supply of gas, usually during the winter to Europe. It has used such as a means to bring Europe to the table for talks, usually it wants something, and then once it is resolved, the gas gets turned back on.

This is nothing new, this has been done before, as Europe has been heavily dependent on gas from Russia, that has been built up since the 1970's and the oil embargo that happened during that time frame.

So this is not a broken record, but something that has happened time and time again.

Ukrain syphons off gas, and won't pay their own gas bill, even though they only have to pay a fraction of what everyone else is charged. That is why Russia is looking to re route around Ukraine.
