Why Does ATS Still Have The 2012 Forum?

I do not intend this to add into any people's delusional vantage points. So I do not mean this to act as if anyone including myself in this thread has any legitimate thinking and/or intuition in the subject.
It is pretty clear that there has never been any real consensus of what 12/21/2012 actually symbolizes and/or is catalyst to.
Whether something happened or did not happen, would humankind really be able to identify the date as being significant?
We live in a day in age of escapism/distraction.
We could be staring the most momentous change straight in its eyes, and we might not know what we are staring at.
People even underemphasize the internet, even though the internet reshaped the world in highly intense extremes.

How about the industrial revolution? Are people realizing and experiencing the shift since then?
Maybe we got a history lesson or two, but how is that actually reforming human psychology/perspective?

I did not question the legitimacy of whether there'd be transformation on 12/21/2012. Transformations are always occurring.
I questioned why people were acting as if there needed to be prophecy that there'd be change as if change is a folk legend.
Of course 12/21/2012 marked something, the question is what.
At the least the date served as a catalyst to the human imagination.
At the most, well, we have yet to see.

I believe there are a lot of people that still think the 2012 theory is correct, but that the date was incorrect. So instead of 2012, it's 2017. Or whatever date they are putting on it now.

Indeed correct as is ongoing still imo.
I did have a problem in that I enjoy the Kryon channellings and they said all would continue on this date and nothing seen But huge events were begun, plus I was Arguelles motivated 2012 wise that we took off flying as such, I chose both and both were correct for me. Same similar for Harmonic Convergence Aug 16-17 1987 as we are now getting proof that world meditations indeed create energy and/or change.

Yes, there was a bit of silliness and a bit of misplaced certainty. Having a reminder of how easy it is to jump into the mass enthusiasm instead of critical thinking is an important aspect of the ATS forums.

2012 was a cultural phenomona, its definetly worth preserving the records from that period.

I'd personally be interested in seeing a comparison between doom-porn from 2012 and doom-porn from things like the 2020 elections and Brexit. Are there any trends, are the same people involved, is doom-porn evolving or devolving?

Regardless of the fact that we didn't anihilate or anything too nefarious like that... the world did change. Just the mere discussions of the what if's of the 2012 scenario of doom, we were different afterward and we continue to evolve and change. So...

I wonder what was recorded on the Global Consciousness Project during the time period leading up to and on that day.
