Just had another one. Not as strong as the 3.6 just a bit ago.

This is getting interesting.

Update: This one was 2.9 magnitude in the same spot as the other two quakes earlier today.

Real interesting. The one yesterday was #16, so we now have #17 and #18, all centered around the old Texas Stadium site. Remember, a doorway is the best place if inside. Nothing down here in Mansfield, thank God.

I'm starting to become disturbed by these. They're not huge quakes, but you can here the rumble, and at the end, it's almost like the house slams down, or something hits the house. They also don't last very long. The first one today happened while I was at school, and I had to play it cool in front of a room full of 7th graders! I know a study began yesterday - I hope they get to the bottom of this soon.

Well... Seems there's a whole load of shaking going on!

Have you made all possible preparations to ensure you have enough supplies, a go bag each for your and your family? Have you prepared escape plans and suchlike? If this continues, it may have lasting consequences for the structural safety of buildings and infrastructure, like gas mains and so on. Best to think ahead if you ask me!

I have half a roll of toilet paper, a bag of cheetos, and 8 Natural Lights in the fridge.

I'm fully prepared for anything life throws at me.

So...

Playing in hardcore mode are we? LOL!

In all seriousness though, I hope you are safe where you are, and have a plan to get somewhere safe if you have to.

Had a couple friends tell me they felt a few , its interesting to say the least!

Wonder if the fracking really is whats causing this or if its just normal?

This is from Oct. 01, 2014 to today. In an area that historically has no quakes, this is really alarming. The cluster includes today's and yesterday's quakes. All of these quakes are located in Irving, which is west of Dallas, but not by much. Just a screen cap from USGS site.

It's interesting to me that in the past week's news it was being reported--and I've had a couple of friends in the drilling and fracking industries tell me--that they are scaling back operations due to the drop in oil prices. So now I'm thinking... they're not pumping as much water into the ground for fracking... and we've had this many quakes in North TX, in one day. Is there something to this?

Hmmm.

I'm not even remotely an expert in this field, but it did strike me as being a little odd. Anyone know if there might be a connection?

I live just a bit north of Irving. The 3.5 one around 3pm woke me up out of bed I think. (just was taking a nap)

It is a bit concerning after the amount we have had in the past couple months, and now there's 4 or 5 just in one day. They're getting quite more frequent and getting stronger.

As for what's causing this, Im not really sure. I dont really know much of anything about earthquakes or fault lines and stuff. If I remember correctly however, our area is on top of some old fault lines. Maybe stuff has just decided to start shifting around recently?

Yep, I'm from University Hills.grew up there and explored the whole place.......did you know it's Native Sacred Land.....the whole Trinity area..
Maybe it's just the end formation of the Balcones Fault up here in Dallas.....

We get tremors here almost every day. It is usually around twelve thirty in the afternoon. That is when they blast at the iron mine. Even though we live about twelve miles away, we can feel every blast. The shaking here varies depending where they blast.
