Not much about this yet, just saw it come across Twitter.

Will post more if I see anything else come across but right now I don't think it's part of any greater drama going on.

Yup bads been happening forever, I just wonder if the pace has increased or are we so connected that we have information overload and this amount of bad is standard.

This sounds like a good story to help point out WHY officers shoot suspects. In a lot of cases, they're pre-emptive strikes regardless of color.

The cop haters make it sound like cops shouldn't shoot at all. Just stand there and take the bullets.

Absolutely agree! The comment that perplexes me the most is 'civilians/LEO's should wait until they are shot at before they shoot'... Seriously? I don't see any benefit to giving criminals threatening lethal force the benefit of the doubt, or at least no benefit for the innocent.

Drawing and pointing a gun is assault with a deadly weapon and can legally be responded to with deadly force.
I don't understand how anyone can think that you have to be shot at before responding to such a threat.

Flagstaff is a small to medium city. Not much there except a stop for travelers on the Interstate. Motels, fast food, gas, etc. And it's always cold there, in the mountains. Fairly quiet community.

Just found this. Looks like subject is dead, officer is in critical with a face/head wound.

1 dead, officer injured in Flagstaff shooting

FLAGSTAFF, AZ - One person is dead and another critically injured in an officer-involved shooting in Flagstaff.

Flagstaff police say the rookie officer was following up on a domestic violence situation and went to a home on West Clay Avenue.

Police say a man came out of the house and began shooting, hitting the officer in the face.

Is it hunting season on cops or something? This country is going nuts.

Vegas Fox News is reporting a little different story: multiple officers were attempting to locate a subject in connection with a DV, rookie is believed to have made contact with him at which point shots were exchanged.
