In an amazing piece of news, that has by-passed many of us at ATS, thanks Kim, a top EU Court has removed Hamas from the Terror List.

A top court of the European Union has annulled the bloc's decision to keep the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas on a list of terrorist groups.
The decision had been based not on an examination of Hamas' actions, but on "factual imputations derived from the press and the internet", judges found.

BBC Source.

Now, I'm not even a supporter of Hamas...

But it seems they should not have been on the Terror List to begin with...
Not because I don't think they're terrorists...
That's irrelevant... well for now at least.

They were never judged by any competent authorities...
They were only on the list, because of a decision based on Media reports, & the Internet...
How's that for credible scrutiny?

Leader of a murderous terrorist organisation, "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Hamas was a "murderous terrorist organisation" which should be put back on the list immediately."...
See what I did there...

Well as you read this, & I laugh deviously at my sinister sense of humour...

We are looking at a bizarre decision, one that many will be scratching their heads at....

Hamas assets will remain frozen for three months, while the decision is reviewed.
Well that's good I guess, formalities & that...

But wait...

Hold your horses...

Because you'll never guess what...
No less than 2 days after being exonerated...

Hamas allegedly fire rockets into you-know-where!!!

Well how is that for convenient...eh!!!

Make of that... What you will...

Salam Alaykum ATS.

By all rights if Hamas was put on the terrorist list then Israel should have been placed right along with them because they are no better. Hamas has the right to fight the nation that has invaded their land.

There are hints that the israeLIES actually created Hamas to divide them from Fatah so that Palestine had no chance of real unification.

All of Israel should be a terrorist organization? Right down to the 3 year olds and such?

Give me a break man

Oh please don't even try that. When I said Israel I was referring to it's government unless you are saying that Israel's children also go out and fight the wars for Israel.

Be specific then maybe? Mossad? Shin Bet? Aman in general? Israel is a country. Saying "Israel should be put on the list" is a rather large, wide, huge, broad brush.

Israel is rapidly losing any goodwill in Europe and instead of trying to repair it's image in the EU and around the world, it instead goes on the attack using the tried and tested claims of anti semitism and Nazism.

There will come a time, probably soon, that they use up that final ounce of goodwill and Europe will turn on them.

Maybe then we can have peace, because as long as the West backs Israel in it's actions (either directly through "aid" or indirectly through not punishing them as they would other nations), they will continue to steal land, murder civilians and squeeze the Palestinians until there is no possibility of a viable state.

A lot of posters are gonna get angry by this news, they won't be able to scream "terrorists" when the Palestinians defend themselves anymore. Now if they can just put the israeli government on the terrorist list they'll be making great headway.

So which is it, does Israel launch rockets at themselves or does Hamas launch rockets in self defense?

I'm curious since I've seen people say both while being critical of Israel...

Let's just agree that all the murderous peoples of the World are just misunderstood. They're not really evil, raping, pillaging scum, they're just misunderstood.

So you do think they are terrorists? And if so, why shouldn't they be on a list of terror organizations?

That's irrelevant... well for now at least.

They were never judged by any competent authorities...

What constitutes a competent authority? If someone is in charge of deciding who is put on this list, wouldn't they be THE competent authority? And at some point they decided Hamas was a terrorist organization... Or I guess they are saying the EU has put someone incompetent in charge of their list of terror organizations... In which case they might as well throw out the whole list as suspect since whoever put it together is apparently incompetent.

They were only on the list, because of a decision based on Media reports, & the Internet...
How's that for credible scrutiny?

So must the Great Competent Decider come to Israel, hang out for a while, and witness the terror attacks first hand? I don't trust the media 100%, but when they show rockets being launched from Gaza, being intercepted above Israel, landing in Israel, and show the damage caused by these rockets over and over again for many years, that isn't good enough? Or maybe the media is all part of some big ass conspiracy, and they've even fooled my own eyes many times when I thought I saw the rockets incoming and the damage done by them.

When Hamas claims responsibility for sending suicide bombers to blow up buses, cafes, along with many other civilian targets as well as launching THOUSANDS of rockets in an attempt to kill ANYONE living in Israel, why shouldn't they be on a list of terror organizations?

Of course things on the internet must be taken with a grain of salt, but this isn't just a couple anonymous reports or Shlomo Smith (try saying that 3 times quickly) posting on Twitter that Hamas blew up his house and killed his goats. Even if you throw out internet reports, is the media documentation of their actions not credible enough?

Hamas assets will remain frozen for three months, while the decision is reviewed.
Well that's good I guess, formalities & that...

I say don't just freeze their assets, seize them and distribute to the victims of their attacks.

But wait...

Hold your horses...

Because you'll never guess what...
No less than 2 days after being exonerated...

Exonerated from what exactly? Being removed from a list by a kangaroo court doesn't negate their actions from the last 27 years.

Hamas allegedly fire rockets into you-know-where!!!

Well how is that for convenient...eh!!!

And this seems implausible because Hamas never does that sort of thing? Or is it again, just a conspiracy that Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israel?

Don't get worked up Joe, "competent authority" wasn't my words, it was taken from Wikipedia's explanation of events.

I don't think Hamas fired the rockets recently either, apparently they arrested those who did.

However it's not a Kangeroo court, it's the EU...

& their reasoning is that Media & Internet is not a valuable source of information...
I'm guessing they'd expect the UN, Human Rights Groups & such to give their side of the story from what they've examined & witnessed.

To be fair,....i dont really care.
