I wondered that too. Click the small "i" for information in the upper right-hand corner. It explains the way they get the info. Not quite sure I follow it, so please read and give me your take on it, if you don't mind.

St.Louis just got pounded again if this is accurate...

Minutes ago:

What is that between the tip of South America and Africa? It is also sending attacks. When it is not obscured by the colors, it is the shape of a hexagram. WTH?

Probably the Hong Kong protesters taking out their rage. No doubt they would have some major backing for these attacks.

what it was is naive chinese hackers though ATS was some sooper dooper High Tech secret Government website ran out of Area 51 and it was on thing is they are still hungover from their "victory over the capitalist piggie doggies" party over there. so there is less hacker traffic today.

FYI: Mark and I still get the occasional purchase order via the contact ATS email address. Most are from Hong Kong or mainland China. In each case, it's clear that someone, somewhere, is of the presumption that certain top-secret technologies that might otherwise be unavailable, can be purchased through us.

Just sayin.

Oh, since you asked about the little representation between S Am & Africa, I thought I should let you know it represents the "military/government" listing. Never paid it much attention, so I was kind of surprised hovering on each listing on the targets list and realized it was for mil/gov.

It's unfocused, brute force. I mean ddos is focused, and yet the attacks keep coming, all across the US. I have servers throughout North America. The ones without ddos protection have been getting hammered.

You can protect, but it takes hardware, and ... monies. It's not cheap, unless you are clever and roll with OVH. May never purchase elsewhere again.

On my own rig at home, I set up a cheapo that takes the hits. No reason risking an invasion of the core network.

Good Day Sir,
I'd like to purchase an army of techologicaly enhanced clone super soldiers, please. Do you still have some in stock?

Or what? Thanks for the morning laugh. And my condolences for the attack.

The data is attacks on honeypots so it isn't real world targets. It's how much someone has taken the bait. Basically a total waste of time and resource.
