From what I can see, wars seem to happen no matter what day the year starts on. I'm not seeing a pattern based on what day of the week the year starts on.

eh, i like the theory, but it needs to pack more of a punch.
you can't sell doomsday predictions with just numbers.
thrown in indigo children taking over or a planet X that will be visible aaaaaaany day now or a software bug and you might be on to something!

Major wars? The Russo-Japanese war was more major than say....world war 1? A war that had, at most, 2 million participants and lasted a year and a half is "major?" And really, 1931 is the "actual" start of world war 2? If we're going to stretch the start date for world war 2 to the Japanese invading Manchuria, lets start it at the Russian revolution (1917). Or the Treaty of Versailles (1919). Vietnam is considered to have started in 1954 or 1955. Military advisers were in Vietnam as early as 1950.

This is cherry picking facts to fit a narrative. Like hardcore cherry picking.

I see in this thread we are playing the false equivalence game. Wars start all the time. When was the last time the world saw complete peace?

Looks more like a 20th Century phenomena to me

what about all the history of wars since the Julian Calendar versus the Gregorian annual calendar...
(Julian . was identical to the Alexandrian Aristarchus' calendar of 239 B.C.)

Uw I know I know,

before man walked the earth?

Yeah that's my answer.

However that raises another question or many other questions that can be debated by science and fundamental theologians for an eternity, debate will turn more into another war.

Yeah My answer is before man existed as war is a concept of the human mind.

OMG, that could also be debated, did we create the concept or was it given to us by Aliens or the Gods?

I'm out, out of my mind that is.

No, war, just like everything humans may consider moral or immoral, is just a natural part of life.

Battles among Ants Resemble Human Warfare
Looting, Cannibalism and Death Blows: The ‘Shock and Awe’ of Ant Warfare

We've documented in the animal kingdom:
Slavery
Rape and homosxuality
even Cannibalism

Heck there are ant colonies that form allianc es with other ants. Even caste (class) systems are present in the animal kingdom.

well i know that the Iran / Iraq war was the longest conventional war. it lasted from 1980 to 1988, and was a proxy war for the U.S. and USSR, starting in 84.

now if he's talking about the Gulf War,Operation Desert Shield , Operation Deseret Storm, or one of the many other names it is known by. that too could be considered a major war seeing how the whole world went Iraq. but his dates are way off.

But my point is the term and how we understand it is a human conception, I agree that concept of survival is a natural thing and due to that war or struggle is inevitable.

Do ants have an awareness like we do and have a language with a word that describes war?

I like to think they do but I hope you get my jist.

They may not, but they happen to fight war VERY similarly as we do. From the second source:

In war, they’ve done the horrific. They’ve looted food from enemy homes — maybe even killing the women and children. They’ve employed suicide bombings. They’ve launched toxic attacks. They’ve even engaged in cannibalism.

Ants, that is.

...

“When it comes to war-fighting, ant species are more similar to humans than most other animals, even primates,” ecologist and photojournalist Mark Moffett tells Danger Room. “Societies with population explosions, that extend into the millions, are prone to large-scale, intense, tactical warfare. It’s a nature of battle only possible among communities with plenty of excess labor force.”

...

Like humans, ants can try to outwit foes with cheats and lies. Here, two ants face off in an effort to prove their superiority — which, in this ant species, is designated by physical height. But the wily ant on the right is standing on a pebble to gain a solid inch over his nemesis.

Before this discovery, tactical deception was thought to be restricted to “big-brained” animals like apes and humans. “It’s unclear whether the ants learned this tactic, or are born with it,” Moffett says. “But that shorter ant will hustle away.”

...

Much like the war-fighting formula laid out by Frederick Lanchester during World War I, army ants engage in combat by emphasizing the size of the army and strategic placement, rather than troop caliber. Which means “cheap labor” is assigned to the front lines.

There is more and it is all FASCINATING.
