West had plenty of place for them. If Russia made the same choices they did, the West would be OK with them as well.

That's why West wants to break Russia into small pieces that do not threaten them. Not happening !!

Btw, plenty of places.............does that mean washing dishes and getting the crumbs on the table. 1000% BS.

Vote was 4 dec...only 10 have voted against it.

Okay, well I see the vote was in The House. It still
needs to go to the Senate then (If I remember my
Poly Sci 180 class) and even if it passes The Senate
The President can still veto it.

And you still think the resolution is a bad idea?

Russia is getting ready to go full-scale war, and you want the US to just sit back and watch as eastern europe is steamrolled by warmachine?

It is because of the US stikking thier finger where it dosent belong.

Russia just can't get over the notion that Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia STILL aren't Russia, and still think that Russia somehow """"deserves""" them despite their citizen's well-justified antipathy.

What's the evidence the West wants to break Russia into small pieces? None.

What's the evidence Russia want's to break Ukraine and Georgia and who knows what else into small pieces? Dead bodies, tanks, soldiers on ""vacation"", missiles and a blown up airliner.

What are you talking about? All of the formerly extremely poor Eastern European countries starting doing better than they once were after they were liberated from the Warsaw Pact and joined Europe---and they didn't have any oil.

The evidence is everywhere that going the old Russian way is a bad idea and going the European way is a better idea. Everybody recognized the facts in front of them except Russia.

There is none, as this is just another fallacy that those who believe Russia to be in the right concerning Ukraine keep thinking the more they say it eventually it will come true.

It seems people forget that those countries have lived under the Russian rule for so long they know exactly what comes with it and do not want to live that way anymore which is the reason they left in the first place. Hard to turn freedoms away and live under the Iron Sickle of Putin.

Too many then's in place of - than's in this thread.

Diplomacy requires precision.

" Than" leaves an option.
"Then" leaves none.

Pet peeve ... yet topical.

Move along ...

ED: To be clear. " I would rather have this THAN that. THEN we can negotiate " ... than and then can't be substituted.

Except Crimea, Russia hasn`t taken any more territory to its federation, so what are you talking about?

Yes all the bail outs have proven that. Start talking to Creeks, Portuguese, Hungarians, Bulgarians, Ukrainians, etc. before talking such crap again.

The only way they were able to do "only slightly" better was for a small portion of their population was able to go to other countries and wash dishes and clean windows for minimum wages. Even sending $2-300 a month back home would help out by alot.

In other ways, most of these countries have not been able to do good or even better. Domestic economics have been pretty much the same.

On the other hand, Russian model does not offer anything to run and cling on to. Russian economic house needs to be cleaned up and diversified internally. Above average economic growth will have former Eastern and Central European countries and people seeking closer terms to exchange more business and get jobs. In the long run, Putin and Kremlin cannot bribe their way to finding allies and friends.

what do you mean? what about swallowing up russias neighbors. what exactly makes you believe the west isn't trying to conquer the world? they have been doing it for decades.

and Ukraine and Georgia both are very much tied to western meddling. you cant just ignore that. soldiers wouldn't have to go on "vacation" if the west didn't feel as if it had free reign to manipulate politics and overthrow governments.

i often wonder what people like you think governments do. because its very little management of their own country and very much incursions into others. america atm is acting very much like the soviet union did and actually uses the exact same tactics and methods to subdue and subvert other countries. full spectrum dominance is the name of the game. whatever makes you think that people in power don't want more power and control you need to expel that junk from your consciousness right now.
