Now, just to be crystal clear, this cop was white, and the guy who killed him was black.

Just to be clear, this is race baiting.

Associating skin pigment with criminal activity is unwarranted.

Thats like associating "islam" with "terror".

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Yes, that's exactly what it is. And it goes BOTH WAYS!. The whole point is, the killing needs to stop. Not just the killing that makes the national news.

If I had my way, we'd all be beige.

No outrage because the man who killed him will likely be caught and serve his time for the crime committed.

You so sure about that? Got a crystal ball or something? I sure wish I could see the future.
There is no outrage becasue the guys a cop, and white. Maybe if he had strongarmed a cashier and stole some blunts and attacked a cop he would get some attention like poor innocent St. Michael of Swisher blunts did.

I SAID "LIKELY"
your sarcastic attitude and disrespect for the deceased is unwarranted and not needed in this discussion.

How about Human?

All human and everyone uniquely individual. 'One of a kind' precious, all. "Race" is a control concept, a measure, or judgment thing. Its promoted by control freaks and haters.

What a waste of energy it always is.

The difference here is obvious.

Cop killed by criminal.

vs

Unarmed suspect killed by Trained Cop.

Both are tragedies - and all parties to this deserving of our open-hearted compassion.

This is the exact reason that Michael brown is dead. The police could face this very situation on every call they respond to. Mike brown is dead because he attacked a cop, not because he was a black kid attacking a cop.

Mike brown is dead because he attacked a cop

That subjective. And the problem that arises without a fair and impartial trial in open court.

Without an actual trial verdict, there is no closure for either side. Thus look for other "repercussions" in a never ending cycle of reprisal and payback.

And if there was a trial and the verdict exonerated Wilson? The folks protesting about this don't want "justice" they want revenge. This has to be looked at for what it really is.

Who got closure in the o j Simpson trial? How bout George zimmermans? A trial does not guarantee anything but lawyers making a lot o money. Due process was followed and the results were made public.

Then they had their day in court and would have to abide by the verdict. Even if I disagreed I would have to abide by it, too. "Justice has been served".

The cost associated with that trial is minuscule compared to what its going to cost (has cost) down the road.

Until then look at the resentment seething there as a result of "no trial". People want their day in court. Preventing that just makes it worse.

The process is to first determine if charges need to be filed. That was done. The grand jury.

As public as this was, having the POTUS directly involved, do you think this was fudged?

This is the justice system in action. And folks didn't like the answer. Like I said, not justice, revenge.

Well lets do away with trials altogether then? Looking back we see that OJ and Zimmerman got away with murder because of the respective trials. Just blowing it off now because justice was denied elsewhere isn't a solution.

Tell that to the people of Ferguson. We saw what happened. At least with a trial verdict we all get to see what so far is just an announcement.

Actually just to determine if it goes to trial. Especially if there appears to be conflicting "evidence". Double especially if there are a lot of folk upset about it. To air it out in the open, not bury it.

As public as this was, having the POTUS directly involved, do you think this was fudged?

The only voice presenting evidence to the grand jury was the attorney for the prosecution. The head of the local branch of the authority. The investigation and evidence presented by the investigating cops to the head prosecutor to the grand jury and in secret.

Is that "fiudgy" enough? Surely thats not the definition of fair and impartial…

This is the justice system in action. And folks didn't like the answer. Like I said, not justice, revenge.

No its a cover up. There has been no "answer", just a "statement". An open trial will get to the "answers". Denying that is denying justice. Understandable, considering the cops don't want themselves put on trial. They shouldn't be allowed to decide if one of their own is culpable or not. Let the court decide.

Justin Winebrenner, 32, died after he was shot in the torso trying to escort Ivery from the bar about 2 a.m. Sunday, Akron police Chief James Nice said at an afternoon press conference.

Now, just to be crystal clear, this cop was white, and the guy who killed him was black.

Is this officers life any less valuable than Mike Brown? Why is there no outrage?

The officer leaves a 4 year old daughter behind.

If nothing else, please say a prayer for her.

To be crystal clear, the officer was off-duty.

You seem to have missed some bits of the story highlighting only what you see as equivalence - when it is not.

AKRON, Ohio -- The first time Kenan Ivery walked into Papa Don's Pub late Saturday night, police said he was unruly. When he came in a second time, he pulled out a gun and eventually shot five people, killing one off-duty Akron police officer, wounding another, and seriously injuring three customers, police said.

No, his life is not less valuable than Brown's, and that he was shot and killed trying to help in a situation makes it quite tragic. But why must you engage in false equivalence?

The situation is entirely unlike what happened with Michael Brown, Jr. The only 'same' parts is that there was a gun involved, someone died, and the killing was interracial. Ivery was taken into custody and will be tried for the shootings. Wilson hid from the public, shielded by the police for months, and will not be tried for the shooting.

I saw exactly what happened. Liquor stores and meat markets were looted. I didn't see any protest.
