Justin Winebrenner, 32, died after he was shot in the torso trying to escort Ivery from the bar about 2 a.m. Sunday, Akron police Chief James Nice said at an afternoon press conference.

Now, just to be crystal clear, this cop was white, and the guy who killed him was black.

Is this officers life any less valuable than Mike Brown? Why is there no outrage?

The officer leaves a 4 year old daughter behind.

If nothing else, please say a prayer for her.

The media can't milk it for views and ratings.

I eagerly await for Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Eric Holder and Obama to make statements and lead protests.

Everyone on ATS knows that all cops are just women raping dog killing toddler maiming sociopaths so he will get no pity on here.

And also it is not racist as long as it is black on white. At least it will never be reported as such. In the MSM black racism just does'nt exist.

That first sentence was sarcasm btw, I hope all is well with his family.

No outrage because the man who killed him will likely be caught and serve his time for the crime committed.
If they caught the guy, then let him go, then there would be outrage

Its only because the news reports mentions the race of the people that everyone knows.

The 'racism' will stop when the news report a man shooting another man, not a black man or white man. Its almost like having black in the title sells more papers.

Outside of the local newspaper or TV, you'll never hear a peep. You're not going to see thousands of white people go on a rampage, demanding the guys head on a stick or protesters burning cars. The media knows this is a very sensitive subject and doesn't want to be accused of playing tit for tat reporting or pushing an agenda. Black on white crime is often under reported, but let a white guy kill a black person... you get Ferguson.

You so sure about that? Got a crystal ball or something? I sure wish I could see the future.

There is no outrage becasue the guys a cop, and white. Maybe if he had strongarmed a cashier and stole some blunts and attacked a cop he would get some attention like poor innocent St. Michael of Swisher blunts did.

I hate to agree since this is pretty sad- but this is pretty much whole point of all the outrage.

If a person shoots a person, that person is caught and punished. Unless the shooter is a cop- on duty or otherwise. They are not always held accountable for their actions.

How much trouble would I be in if I shot the next dog that wandered onto my property? A fair bit. Animal cruelty, endangering other people, discharging a firearm within city limits, etc.
If I had a dog, and a cop came on my property and shot that dog- he would be immune to any backlash.

I would get into more trouble shooting my own dog on my own property than an officer would.
That's what all the outrage is about....

This cop killer? Well, guess what. He'll be punished. The cop was just hanging out at the bar, off duty. Does anyone want to talk about the fact that this guy walked into a bar and started shooting people? Nope, because he happened to shoot and kill an officer, too. What if there wasn't an off duty cop there, and instead it was an ATS member? Then there wouldn't be outrage, it'd just be some dude walks into a bar...

Honestly, when a police officer is killed in the line of duty here in PA, the whole community rallies around it. New laws are generally passed, we have these huge ceremonies in remembrance of them, and for weeks after people are hypervigilant about any criticism of the police whatsoever. I think the police have more than enough support from the masses, which is a good thing, in a rational society they should be serving and protecting people.

Waking up the people to police corruption and aggression isn't to say that police are unnecessary or undesirable, just that they must be held accountable and trained to be more judicious in their behavior.

Essentially, we have a condition now where judicious, intelligent people are being passed up for aggressive roid junkies and we wonder why we get so many shooting deaths out of the hands of law enforcement. This isn't truly so much a condition of having bad officers as it is a condition of having bad policy makers.

When the person that shot this officer walks away free and avoids a trial then you have every right to be outraged.

There will be no outrage, because law enforcement are quickly losing any hope of getting back the respect they once got from the public. The percentage of bad cops, and the media have sealed their fate. At this point, any death of a cop/authority figure is seen as atonement for their crimes against the people. The further down this road we travel the less empathy and sympathy any representative of government authority is going to have.

I don't think you understand. The outrage happened as soon as the people died. Within minutes. Look at the Cleveland thing. That just happened. Cops are still on leave pending investigation. I think there is a HUGE bit of Hippocricy here.

Every life matters. Every damn one of them.

I believe that the numbers are still much higher the other way around. Not an every day occurrence.

That would be why.

Making the comparison is not even remotely possible.

Peace

Food for thought.

"I think there’s fear of intimidation, harassment being legitimized by the fact that there is a high rate of crime, especially among young black men," Williams said. "No. 1 cause of death, young black men 15 to 34 — murder. Who’s committing the murder? Not police. Other black men."

Last year, PolitiFact found that 93 percent of murder victims were killed by someone who shares their race. This time, we want to check out Williams’ claim that homicide is the No. 1 cause of death for black men 15-34 years old.

www.politifact.com...

The killing needs to stop. Personal responsibility and dare I say, love, needs to be taught, and UNDERSTOOD. Maybe I am just old fashioned. I cringe at seeing violence and cannot imagine killing a person. Life is too precious.

Does the killing need to stop or do we just let them kill themselves off and ruin America while they do it?

Education...we can't help many of the late teens on up because the culture has been engraved. We need to educate the kids starting at a young age. We need to engrave it in those damn parents heads that if they want their kid to have a different future then change!! A lot of these folks want good for their kids but then the culture drags them down with the BS.

Just to be clear, this is race baiting.

Associating skin pigment with criminal activity is unwarranted.

Thats like associating "islam" with "terror".

Wash, rinse, repeat.
