The oil price has dropped a lot over the past few months which does seem strange to me. One thing I'm pretty sure of is human nature doesn't change. Greed, money and power rule as it's been since the ancient world. All that changes is technology.
People, society seems to be becoming more detached and remote or maybe it's just my imagination...

What if it is not profitable to frack below 80 dollars a barrel? What if Russia needs 90 dollars a barrel to sustain their economy?

Is the lowering oil prices now so strange?

I don't have any special knowledge. Nor have I received any revelations of future events. However, I do not disparage those who have been blessed with those gifts.

One of my primary fields of interest in this community here on ATS, is doom porn. I've spent a great deal of time studying the potential of societal collapse, and the interplay of various discrete events that may precipitate that collapse. While I hope that our next paradigm shift is ultimately one of enlightenment, I fear that initially there will be a price to be paid for that gift.

In the so-called developed nations, we have become quite dependent on our technology. Technology underpins nearly every aspect of our daily lives. The Internet, advanced medicine, space science, and just-in-time food and supply delivery are just some of the things that we have come to depend on.

The problem with that technological dependence is that the infrastructure upon which it depends is quite brittle and fragile. One or more unfortunate system failures could bring the entire house of cards down. In this Internet Age, we have become complacent, especially the latest generation. We have lost our ability to compensate for the potential loss of our technology. This catastrophic system crash will initiate the paradigm shift.

This paradigm shift will be a shift backwards, towards a more "primitive" lifestyle. The so-called "first world" will suddenly be worse off than the so-called "third world." I don't think the shift will be permanent. But it will be of a sufficiently long duration that our world-view will change. I think we will become more appreciative of our natural resources. The unsustainable rampant consumerism practiced by the "developed" world will become a thing of the past. Perhaps this descent into misery will also persuade the "haves" to share with the "have nots."

This is my prediction. I don't have a time-frame for its occurrence. But the greater our technological dependence, the more likely a small event will grow into a large one.

so if it was you ...what do you think it would be ?? hmm??

So lets say we are talking aliens, ok?

Who is to say that is what an alien or mother ship sounds like. We are talking about a race that evolved on another planet, but so some reason we implanted human concepts on the what, who and how they are. When you look at the whole alien thing you can see a progression some simple to complex that we humans have created simple fly saucers and now we have complex ships within 70 years as our imaginations have fueled this whole Phenomena.

you're not getting my point ...

this was in 1977-78' ...we as a species didn't even have personal computers then .. and I'm NOT pointing to aliens, I'm pointing to the fact that whatever it was, was highly technology advanced ..perhaps even 100 years or more..

appreciate your comment~!

Yes, well...back in y2k, I came to the conclusion that the only way for us to survive back then was that the governments of the world would have to announce martial law, but that isn't what I'm driving at here and not to detail my own thread.

Agreed, life is extremely fragile right now for all involved, those that don't see it will soon to come to understand that our systems that are in place are purposely brought down, IMO.

I'm hoping along with you that the shift isn't the full blown aggression before we become enlightened we're all human beings and have a choice to be better toward each other. TPTB make that choice very very difficult ...for some.

Keep coming back in my mind of Klass's impression..where everyone is looking up to the skies, I know this is what i'm feeling as it will bring a whole new meaning to society, young and old, rich and poor. Just feel as though, everyone will be in the same mindset of ....'hmmmmm...' it's as if we'll all pause for awhile and contemplate the ramifications of such a thing ..

Night falls on us. And the dawn is a long way away. Thousands will die before we see the darkest of darks. Soon is a mere thirty-year eye twinkle in the expanse of eternity.

Yes, the scriptures do hold a key to it all, issue is, it's extremely difficult to tell the 'when', but for me a shift, a big one will be quite soon.

The 'shift' can only happen now. It is a shift in perception from 'out there' (space) to 'here' (spacelessness). From 'when' (time) to 'now' (timelessness).

In conclusion, for millions of years we have been evolving and will continue to do so. Change is difficult. Human Beings resist change; however, the process has been set in motion long ago and we will continue to co-create our own experience. Kuhn states that "awareness is prerequisite to all acceptable changes of theory" (p. 67). It all begins in the mind of the person. What we perceive, whether normal or metanormal, conscious or unconscious, are subject to the limitations and distortions produced by our inherited and socially conditional nature. However, we are not restricted by this for we can change. We are moving at an accelerated rate of speed and our state of consciousness is transforming and transcending. Many are awakening as our conscious awareness expands.

You 'think' you are evolving - but you are just watching change. You are that which sees and knows the ever changing scenery that is showing up.
The paradigm shift is in the way you see reality.

Hello! I, like you, feel that, my husband has also mentioned this recently, we both feel something coming in the air so to speak. He thinks it's about the new tech that's going to change how the world functions, the hydrogen fuel science coming out of Germany. Which will make fossil fuels obsolete. Me I personally think it has to do with what's inside of us.

I think it's most probable that both are true. That would cover all the bases.
Either or simply couldn't explain all the diverse phenomena.

paradigm shift
a significant change in the paradigm of any discipline or group.

There is something coming on the horizon that will 'gather' multiple areas of financial markets, science and technology, i'm not sure if it's good or bad .. but all i know is, I have a deep sense of this 'shift' coming. I sense that it will blow our minds about life as we see it today, I'm not sure if this will be a good thing or not... all i know is what I sense.

I was talking to my brother about this last night. A few years ago he had a near death experience where he "crossed" over to the other side. He reports that the other side is a place of peace, joy and acceptance. He told me how all his views and opinions fell away. He describes it as dropping refuse into a waste basket at the door to heaven.

Anyhow, at one point, he reminded me how I used to think about a certain topic and my reply was to say, "Yeah, but I've had several paradigms sift sense then."

My brother laughed because he knew it was true. "In fact," he added "have you noticed that in the age in which we life people have several paradigm shifts in their life time. In the past, even in the generation of our Father, people might have one paradigm shift in their entire lifetime."

"Yes, it seems that way. But it also seems these paradigm shifts are happening at an ever greater rate. What took years is now speeding up in months or weeks."

"I know it"

"Think about what that might suggest. Are we approaching an event horizon."

"When people will stop valuing the valueless?" He is referencing a previous conversation.

"That would be a huge paradigm shift!" I said.

My brother continued. "That is the event horizon, as I see it. That is where light and darkness meet. It is the paradigm shifts that removes the illusion of separation, when we see all men as bothers."

"When you speak of light and darkness, I see that as a metaphor for God and separation. All the assumptions of humanity are what keep us in a perpetual state of war and addicted to chaos."

"Yes, that is the darkness."

"Taking that metaphor forward, think of the Light of our Creator as the Sun shining on the surface of the moon. That is not were we want to be, we prefer the spiritual darkness and fear the Light. We live in darkness because we want to explore what is outside of the Divine Light. But the darkside of the moon isn't always dark, it gets 14 days of sunlight every month."

"Is that true?"

"Yes, we just call it the darkside because it is dark to us on Earth. And here on earth we live in spiritual darkness. We are attached to the things of this world, to our body, and our ego. We know the Creator is out there but we prefer to have a big rock like the moon between us and God. The paradigm shift is when the dark-side of the moon turns toward the sun and the realm of ignorance is exposed to Knowing Oneness... but the event horizon is when we are enveloped in the Light and never return to darkness because we don't miss it and no longer desire it."

"That is what crossing over is like. All illusions fall away. I was okay with it. All my preconceived ideas were gone, but the essence of who I was remained. And I found I was quite happy without all that Earth baggage. I was home."

"That is the ultimate paradigm shift."

"It sure is."

"Perhaps that is the paradigm shift that is coming for everyone. I have this feeling we are approaching that event horizon."

"You mean when everyone comes into the Light at the same time."

"Perhaps. But it will be a rude awaking for some."

Two Distinct Events In Our Future?

"There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know." ---Donald Rumsfeld

Žižek argues that if Rumsfeld thought that the main dangers in the confrontation with Iraq were the “unknown unknowns,” that is, the threats from Saddam whose nature we cannot even suspect. But then the Abu Ghraib scandal revealed an even greater danger, and it was from the enemy within, the “unknown known,” that ugly part of our own nature that we keep hidden from ourselves and each other. It would seem there is the devil inside each and every moral crusader, and when you see photographic evidence of this, it isn’t something you want to look at and certainly don’t want others to see (especially if you happen to be occupying their country).

This “unknown known” is called the “normalcy bias” by some–it is a thing which seems normal when it isn’t or a thing accepted that should not be. In the case Abu Ghraib what the world saw exposed was not just the dark “latent tendencies” on the part a few, but what Žižek calls the “disavowed beliefs” of Western culture. He points out that these are very often obscene and violent practices we pretend not to know about (even though they, in no small part, form the background of our public values). In short, these the beliefs which produce behavior no one wants to talk about, much less critically examine.

It does not take rocket science thou to understand we are going to one day kill ourselves on unprecedented scales... It looks sooner than later.

I completely agree with you! You remember the whole 2012 thing? I believe that it was just a change in our consciousness, the way we see things, think, or just us evolving into a different paradigm, like maybe one day soon we will actually be able to access our powers, because I'm a firm believer that we have untapped powers within. Great thread!

Perhaps the shift has been underway for some time and you are now becoming aware of it in a big way.

When you synch in to the waters of change the future is revealed, you see it coming. It's as high as the sky and as wide as the horizon, and it's coming straight at us at a billion miles per hr.

Oh to be carried away by the deep

It's not what we have been led to believe.
