It's just bronze age Buddhist meditation bull crap to me. Is there one bit of evidence in this 'alleged phenomenon"?

To my knowledge, there is not a single, solitary shred of evidence that any part of our consciousness can be disassociated from the biochemistry of the brain, but, I could be wrong, I just find it hard that people believe in this, yet anything about the UFO phenomenon, AA theory, Ghosts e.t.c they don't?

All the above still do not have sufficient evidence (apart fro UFO's imo) to become a fact... yet.

If astral projection exists, then it should be easy to show that it exists?. If you can't show that something exists, then for all practical purpose it doesn't exist.

So, what practical good has astral projection done?, as opposed to simple meditation? Unless someone can show access to information that can only be achieved by astral projection, then surely that, whatever they are experiencing is identical to just imagining things!.

Schizophrenia, a horrible mental disorder that is hard to live with, believe me I've seen it. But the symptoms from it can also be different which include false beliefs, unclear or confused thinking, auditory hallucinations, reduced social engagement and emotional expression, and inactivity.

Could the above play some part in the believers of it? I'm not implying mental illness in the believers, it's a possibility route that's all.

I also know the difference between lucid dreaming and the like, so don't get too disgruntled over the above!

Maybe I've talked myself out of all this meditation, higher dimensions, astral planes crap e.c.t because my mind struggles to fathom it?

Although I do know I'm not alone in this thought either, because todays crowds want proof, and their isn't any, so without proof, it all falls under the same category as woo-woo!?

I dunno

I've had a few astral projections, whilst on '___'. No not really. I'm skeptical of anything like this that is claimed, and even though I would like to think it is cool someone could do this, I personally highly doubt that it as actually occurring, although I am not saying the person claiming to experience this is lying about their perception. I can dream that I am on a plane, and it may feel real at the time, though it does not make it true. The mind is an amazing thing that we just don't understand enough yet to make any bold claims. You are right though, all we currently have is falsifiability, which this apparently cannot be (unless someone can astral project onto the meteorite that was landed on and tell me the serial code of the vessel on it!!).

When you dream what ARE you? Are you a Body?

I've astral projected and saw things that were real in this reality. People forget closing their eyes and turning off they are projecting their consciousness out from behind their eyes and into another place..

Well I went out into the world. I could see in the dark because everything glows.. Everything has weird consciousness energy.
I got out I was in my room. When you do it you are like WTF!!! IT's REAL!! Because it's more real than "real" life. I got out and I was in my room.

I floated toward the window and went through it. The glass was ok to go through it felt like gel? The screen felt strange and almost made me lose focus. Then I floated up over the roof. Everything was silvery and glowing. There was no moon. I saw my dog..

I floated over to him, but why is he outside at night? He's never outside at night. He wakes up and comes to me, but then I lose control and sort of fall backward bending back the blades of monkey grass with my back.

I warp to my body still completely awake... I never went to sleep btw. I did this on purpose.

I go in my body now to the back door open it and find my dog right where I just left him moments ago in my light body..

This was the only time he was left outside ever.. And because I projected outside I found him.. I couldn't make sounds in my light body.. I had no vocal chords.. Somehow he sensed me, though it seemed like he couldn't see me.

It's VERY real. What are you if you can dream...??? Just think about it. Even if it's a brain making up a world to be in, you have projected from behind your eyes into a whole different world.. The difference with dreaming and astral projecting is that when you do the astral you are MORE conscious than full waking consciousness.

It's Trippy..

And it's made me KNOW. I can't die. Maybe the dude who has my name will lose his body, and people will miss him, but the rest of me will always be here or there or where ever I AM.

I think we have a winner. Just because you don't understand something, and are therefore incapable of experiencing it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

There is plenty of evidence for the realities of astral projection, remote viewing, and all that other rehashed "bronze age Buddhist crap".

Read a book. Do at least a little homework before you go implying that astral projectors are crazy. Your argument sounds like typically weak, rabid Atheist vitriol.

I would also be willing to try to prove it if I can find out how to do it again. I got out of doing it because it causes problems with sleep. You end up in all kinds of combinations of SP lucid dreaming being in 2 places at once (in a dream and in your body laying there)..

An experiment but youd have to trust me or anyone else who tries it..

I or someone I know would pick a random card from a deck and tape it facing out a window .. Then I go out of my body or you go out of yours and go through the window turn around and read the card..

If you are right it is some evidence that it's real. Though you may be proving other things instead.. Being psychic would mess up that sort of experiment but it's the closest thing I can think of to prove astral projection..

I've sort of been not wanting to do anything "spiritual" in a long time. Sometimes it's easier not fighting sleep.

But so everyone is clear. WHATEVER you focus on is REAL. Focus is a dimension. It shows where thoughts are. Where things are spread out through focus. Focus is a dimension. In the true definition of dimension, as another way to describe reality, another factor, another angle. Focus is an angle like depth or width. It's another number you need to have to describe where someone is "mentally" Oh hes at the corner of broad and 6th street on the ground at 5PM and he's happy.. Happy describes a mental dimension.. A focus.

To me, it sounds like an hallucination, that to me is the only scientific way to put the experience into context into my brain. Like another member has mentioned, maybe I need to read up on it more, but it still doesn't deliver proof.

I know UFO's exist, but I can't give you physical proof of it.

Do you know what I mean?

Where is the evidence?

There is no evidence that information causes consciousness. It's a dumb idea, but almost every person studying consciousness thinks it's true..

There is evidence that breaking a brain breaks a person. But this doesn't prove anything either.. If I rip out your antenna to your TV it won't show any TV signals.

They have proven that they can make you think you are not in your body, but that's kind of a dumb thing to prove again.. Because that gets you no where.. And dreams already prove that anyway.

Quantum mechanics and relativity basically show you one of two things.. Either everything is connected, and therefore information can be flowed from anything to anything else instantly, so you can be anywhere.... OR space and time are an illusion.. And you can be anywhere..

The physics shows these things to be true, people are just too slow to look from another perspective than from behind their eyes. Imagine if eyes were on your hands? Would you YOU looking out from your hands.. Would you think you were a brain that was up and to the left of where you are sitting? what would be YOU?? If your perspective was from your hands I bet "scientists" would say the nerves from you.. From your hands reach up into the data center and control it.. They think you are a brain, but I suspect the placement of the eyes is the main thing responsible for them not realizing the body is a puppet. They think the brain is you and the rest is a puppet... The brain is a puppet.

Perspective confuses you.

there's probably a slew of books you could read but, the evidence is in first hand experience. but, it can take months of practice.

so i honestly couldn't see someone who is already predisposed to not believe having any type of progress in this realm.

You used the word scientific, but you meant materialistic. Scientific is asking questions not having answers, so don't use that word that way again unless you are talking about scientific as a religion.

anyway..

My posts are subtle and bold.. They may not make sense, but I'm trying to make people realize what physics tells us. Space time is a game we play. It's what you might call a hallucination.

If you want to know anything you shouldn't learn from others by repeating "truths."

You need to make a journey, because the destination is pointless in a universe with no space or points.

You could say that astral projection is in your head, and I would say yes it is, but so is everything else. It's a step up.. It's THE universe. It's the mind.

I saw a UFO. It made no sound and it was there for 30 minutes. It was the Black triangle. It flew right above my head maybe 200 feet up. I must have hallucinated. But I think therefore I am.

The other dimensions that string theory needs to make sense are not "parallel worlds" They are dimensions... Length width time focus.... Physics SAYS that space must be an illusion OR there are higher dimensions.. So what's weird about being somewhere.. Information travels faster than the speed of light and nothing goes that fast... So... It's NOT traveling..

Everything is right HERE. Jesus called it the kingdom of heaven, but I just call it reality.. It's all Inside.

UFOss

Astral Projection...

It's the same concept..

It's how they work..

Time space is no distance to be forced through.

I first read about it 11 years ago here at ATS. I thought the same thing at the time. What the hell? people can do this and it isnt front page of the newspaper? It must not be real. Why haven't scientists proven this yet? If it were real we would learn about it in school...

Anyway rather than just dismissing it as bs, i decided to read more about it and try it because it sounded amazing to me. About 4 months later after practicing every night I had one. It felt like someone had grabbed my ankles and flipped me out of my body. I was standing there next to my body looking at in bed, then i decided to go explore. I was able to fly through the roof and fly around my neighborhood. I woke up and my life was changed.
I went from not believing in spirituality to understanding that I am an infinite being that will never die.

11 years later today. I've figured out how to have an OBE almost at will. I've had over 350 OBE's and i keep getting better. I've talked to people that claim to be able to astral project at will while awake on their feet. I now understand that consciousness isn't limited to our physical body, but rather everything we perceive is consciousness and you can expand yours to travel and experience things that you'd never think were possible.

Here is one study done that proves it exists. www.collective-evolution.com... There are many more, they just don't make it mainstream because (i think) there is a very real war on consciousness happening and the PTB want you ignorant.

The thing is these astral realities are less dense reality than this physical one we are used to. The astral realities are echoes of our collective consciousness so when you go into them and bring information back it usually isn't accurate for our reality. It is possible to do it, its just very hard.

Our physical reality is 99.9% space or something like that. The reason this reality seems real to us is because our consciousness is not at the level to perceive the empty space between our atoms. When you train your mind through meditation this physical reality starts to become less dense. This is the same thing as the dream/astral/obe/spirit/consciousness realm. These realms are a lot less dense and our consciousness has mattered that reality and can perceive the space in-between those atoms. Hence the reason you can fly, shape shift, talk to spiritual beings, create worlds, create people, teleport, become non human and experience consciousness from a completely different perspective, hell i even did some kind of astral drug which put me into a 20 hour extra dimensional trip.Very much Like smoking D_ _.

I happen to be leaning towards the idea that when humanity catches on to the fact that everything we perceive is consciousness and that we are all one spiritual being creating a seemingly separated physical reality, our planet will not only stop the pointless wars, hunger, greed, etc., we will start becoming spiritual beings with powers of mind over matter. So yeah, I think there is practical good to astral projection. However astral projection is only the start of what is possible.

Heres some more things consciousness is capable of that you probably won't believe either...

I was about to star your post until I got to the last line, and you lumped all atheists together under one umbrella. Making your post the same "rabid vitriol" you accuse atheists of. Maybe you need to take the advice you just gave the OP...

"Read a book. Do at least a little homework before you go implying" that all atheists have any belief in common but one. A lack of belief in deities.

I didn't like that post either.
It was exactly against itself as a post.
It's no good to tell others they are being closed minded and then show them how close minded you can be back.

It's nice to be nice.
It's nice to not know.
It's nice to communicate.
