Your hubby didn't go after the LE's weapon, or assault him.

No my hubby didn't do that. I was addressing the initial stop. LE treated my hubby/our vehicle as a possible threat before getting near us and proceeded accordingly. Brown was a suspect, if his size was so threatening why not wait for backup?

LE didn't jump in front of our truck leaving themselves open to a bad reaction. I don't see why a lone cop would take on such a giant without backup unless he was begging for a bad reaction or playing tough guy cop/bit off more than he could chew.

But TV and Movies state otherwise.

Can't help the ignorant.

Yet if an upper middle class white boy gets caught doing something, he just gets probation and fines for the sames crimes.

Here in Florida, violation of probation is where they really get the poor who can not find worthy legal counsel. Ask Grady Judd of Polk County Florida about violation of probation. Some of his deputies no doubt have white supremacist ties.

Go ahead, flame away. I just call it like I see it.

Something the ignorant foreigners will never get.

TV/Movies tell them otherwise.

Well I think most of us ignorant foreigners are just saddened because this would not happen in most civilised countries.
He would have been pulled over, an altercation and fight ensued and then the Police Officer would have used his spray, Baton or other non lethal weapon.

This would never have made the news, no story to tell.

Not in America though, no siree....you so much as look at a cop wrong these days and you'd better hope to god he's not in a foul mood and doesn't decide to end your life.

You're completely wrong but thanks for playing.

In your scenario, the criminal could just as easily beat the officer to death. Once an individual makes it clear that they're willing to kill a police officer to get away, the stakes are raised and deadly force becomes an act of self defense.

For reference....

here's the released GJ transcripts.

Documents from the Ferguson grand jury

The witness statements are all over the place often contradicting themselves, which brings any credibility in them into serious doubt. I could help but laugh at some of the comments spoken during the interviews.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of these people would hop onto a bus after an accident just to try to sue. )It's happened before)

Cool story bro...

You really think so?
Well that's very kind of you

Please....don't come to the US. Don't think you would fair well.

Well I wouldn't have a gun so probably not...although I've travelled to a fair few places around the world and never had a problem... then again, most of the people aren't mental shooty people like you, so yeah... there is that.

Oh......and most here in the US could care less what others in foreign countries think of us.

You Could care less? So you actually care quite a bit then if there's room for caring less?
Well thanks very much, nice to know you care mr shooty, violent man.
And here was me thinking you were just a violent, frothing at the mouth nutter?

Who knew you cared....

not read the thread yet but before the no bill i was convinced givin what was stated that the shooting was justified but now i am convinced after hearing the county that justice was not served. the part that got me was the fact the suspect was chased hundreds of feet then stopped. no stand down orders were givin and you had several witnesses saying he charged and several others stating he did not charge. at that point it is for a proper court room to decide and in any other bill hearing it would be so. i am convinced that darren will get his justice from the lord cause it is outta our hands now.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if all those protestors who burned and looted demonstrated the same energy in looking for a job or educating themselves? These same people will be lamenting next week about how there are no opportunities and no businessses in Ferguson. Well, ya, you destroyed the businesses and even the black community business owners will refuse to rebuild and discourage new ones from coming there now. And of course it will be blame everybody else and take no responsibilty for what you have brought on yourself.

Can I ask why a story like the Michael Brown one gets so much attention, but the story of a Utah man named Dillon Taylor gets so little?

2 days after the MB shooting, a Utah man, white/20/unarmed, was shot and killed by a black officer... Peaceful protests have happened in Utah, nothing even remotely close to what we've seem in Ferguson..

There's the right way and the wrong way to go about protests... In this case, Utah has done it right, while Ferguson gets a giant F....

LOL. I take it you have never been to Germany, or Spain, or Italy. The cops there will # you up if they want to. The difference is that police roughness is actually expected and has always been considered normal.

You do realize that violation of probation means that an additional crime was committed, right?

Probation is a second chance for someone to prove they can behave...

Tell me, how many chances should we give someone to prove they aren't going to engage in criminal behavior?

Instead of tear gas, they should have deployed water cannons. Soak people during the cold times and it would have had a better effect to get people to rethink setting buildings on fire.

i was thinking that last night too. people were bundled up...it was pretty damn cold.
would have been much more effective i think...

Mike Brown seemed like a good, misunderstood kid... When I was in HS and around 18 I remember taking pictures with guns and wads of cash to... I guess the media doesn't want you to know that he was in fact a thug, but instead lets keep calling him an "unarmed black teen/child"... I know lots of teens and children and none of them act like this...

Does immaturity in a non violently act of immaturity translate to someone who would act violently?

Didn't you do anything stupid as a kid or young adult? I certainly did. Today, I am different.

Yea we toilet papered houses; sneaked into the school and glued everything on our teachers desk down.

But posting up like a gang member and all that jazz?

Come on now. Downplaying this type thuggishness?

Even if the Cops did everything they are accused of...

Why burn down your town ?

Because people are looking for free stuff.

Not a single looter cares about Michael Brown.

"Fix it by fixing the you-owe-me mentality, the gangsta mentality, and the disrespect for law mentality."

Therein lies the problem. The attitude is endemic in the culture.

The attitude is promoted, bought, sold and payed for. Now, who or what do you think contributes to this?

If we know who the benefactors are, those who profit from the ordeal, we can help to facilitate meaningful change.

Well, here in the US we have cops that will mess you up too... I remember when I worked in the bar industry right off Rush & Division St. in downtown Chicago. I would find myself sitting by the door, deciding who may enter and who may not, and then I would see tourists (only reasonable explanation) bad mouthing Chicago PD, trying to put a show on for onlookers... Well, long story short, it never ended well for these people... I've seen cops slam people pretty damn hard and use excessive force... People cheer and clap, no one really wants to intervene because they don't want to be an example too so they side with the police and treat it as justified...

you can ask all you want but you already know the answer.
the guy that was shot in this case was white...so its fine

no racist cop there...that only works if the cop is white and the suspect black...
