The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

The forensic facts can not be disputed.
Unlike emotional rhetoric and 'loaded language', forensics do not lie.

Brown was a fully grown adult man. He was huge and he was aggressive. Brown got himself shot via his own actions. Period. He's the one that reached into the cop car and punched out a cop while trying to steal a gun. HE did that. No one else. He's the one that turned and charged into the cop. Forensics and eyewitness accounts confirm that. The only person to blame for Brown being dead is ... Brown.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Right, because someone long before any of us were born decided slavery was a good idea we in modern America should pay for it. Sounds logical. (Not!) I'd dare say people like you help make a lot of the problems we as a society in 2014 and previously have to face.

I don't know if you're being obtuse and can't help it, or if it's some sort of bait tactic to get me and others to veer off topic. I'm guessing you lack the cognitive skills to plan such action, so I will chock it up to you just being obtuse.

Thanks for making this race issue again.

Of course he does. When one lacks any actual facts to present in a debate, they cling to the lowest form of argumentation. We can't blame him or her though, I honestly think he doesn't know any better. If that's due to ignorance or stupidity is up for debate.

The question that needs answered, besides the actions of the officer, is why there is a seething hate for police among certain parts of the American population.

I say it is because race matters in America and race divides one from another. It compartmentalizes, presumes general instincts and intellectual capacity.

Why did Darren try to take the officers gun over a simple jay walking incident? Could it be deep ingrained hatred? How was that instilled?

I don't think anyone could have summed that up better.

last night was ridiculous.

I must say I was impressed when some of the protesters tried to stop some of the looters.

Exactly as you can see from this video, total FAKE, lots of BS going on, threw a smoke bomb and claimed it was tear gas. You can't fake tear gas, this guy would be crying and snot flowing, if it had been actual tear gas. I posted this on another thread earlier, but def fits right in on this thread too.

And which version of the Good Officer Wilson's story did that gem come from? Why hasn't been able to keep his story straight? 18 is still a kid. Eight TEEN. Teenager. Black or not. Big scary black thug (nice codeword, btw. Repeated usage really drives your meaning home), or skinny white 18 year old nerd. Both lives are equally valuable.

In the united states, if you're 18, you're an adult. End of story. I was an adult when I turned eighteen and I accepted all the freedom, and yes, responsibilities that came with it. Brown made a decision, and he had to deal with it's consequences. Rather than attacking the cop, he could have complied just as easily and at most spend a few years in jail. Instead, he's dead. He was an ADULT who made an awful decision.

I'm flabbergasted that you could call 18 year old black kid who (didn't actually) rob anything a 'man' while calling a white kid of the same age rightfully a kid. Why, exactly, is that? Why is the one with darker skin not a youth in your eyes, despite their ages being the same?

WOW - What the F is going on in the United States - we are on the verge of a civil race war here! Bring it on idiots - maybe we can clean up this mess that way!

The unrestrained vitriol or the sixteen stars....

What is more disturbing.

Bring it on? Bring on the race war?

I truly believe that the only idiot here is the one calling for exactly what is most likely desired, for us to divide and concur OURSELVES.

Regardless of what brown did, he was shot in the back running away...blah, blah I'm uninformed and didn't read any of the three autopsy reports.

There. I fixed your opening line for you. You're welcome.

You know, I really, truly, do not believe it is a race thing. I think it is a way of life thing.

People raised up thinking they are entitled to stuff they never earned, living off the system vs someone saying "No".

Shootings like this one will stop when people stop breaking the law. Which will be never.

i think it is instilled and passed down to them....
look at last night....even in the middle of getting the gas they didnt seem to understand they were doing it to themselves....they hate the cops...the cops are racist faggots....someone said they are like isis and hitler...
so all those people are going to go home to their kids(who they were not with) and pass on all that hate to them...gonna fill their heads with all that BS....
gonna tell all those kids that all they wanted was a peaceful protest but the racist oppressive cops wouldnt allow it...

those kids are gonna grow up thinking just like their parents and the circle is going to continue...

all their problems are everyone elses fault...that is something else theyre gonna pass on..

gonna pass on how bad it sucks for them not being able to find work.....even though they are the people that are looting and setting businesses on fire, so people have no job to go to....

thats my theory on it

The only race war is the one going on in your little head perpetuated by an irresponsible media, President, and Attorney General.

Ferguson will be forgotten in a couple weeks.

Who let the parrot in?

All I hear from the majority of members here is a blatant regurgitation of what they've been told all their life or what MSM is currently saying.

Have an original thought. I'm not saying be pro-brown, I'm saying at least think about it. Come up with something *different*, at least by 5 degrees, from the party line.

There are so many parrots squawking in here, it makes me think I'm in the heart of the Amazon.

So, if someone has authority, they're suddenly TPTB. Gotcha. I don't know which news you've been watching but nearly every media outlet I watched made Brown out to be just "an innocent kid who was mercilessly gunned by KKK Grand Wizard Darren "Kill Darkie" Wilson."

If you want to point a finger at someone, point it at the people who made this what it is today. The 24/7 news media who were slavering over the idea that this could become the "biggest story of the decade".

Or point it at the communities who divide themselves and choose to define themselves only by race and the "culture" that goes along with it rather than seeing everyone as human beings and taking responsibility for making a life for themselves.

As I said before, Ferguson PD was an unwilling pawn in this game. They were only maneuvered and positioned.

What's missing from this conversation is that Ferguson residents have no faith in the police account of the altercation due to documented civil rights violations in previous cases. And Ferguson residents asked the Governor to appoint an independent prosecutor to present a case to the grand jury because they had real concerns about how the previous cases were handled.

The prosecutor didn't present a case to the jury for a possible charge, he simply inundated them with conflicting testimony and left them to decide on their own. A prosecutor is supposed to lead a grand jury to a a conclusion. Given that, this prosecutor got exactly what he wanted from this grand jury.

Residents are being asked to accept a decision from a system they had no faith in originally. So, in their estimation there has been no justice, there wil be no justice.

The reality of Fergusun that many can't grasp and will never grasp due to their own confirmation bias and narrow world views is that institutional racism within the Justice system is a reality that exists in America. Unfortunately, the only way to end it is to call it out and protest it until systemic changes are made.

But it must be nonviolent.

That's very, very easy to say when you've never been in such a situation. And I pray that you never will. Words are cheap, but I suspect that if you were going through what she is your actions would speak differently than words typed from behind a screen.

My cousin was killed by law enforcement officers and no one did anything about it. We did not go running out in the streets screaming for justice. And my cousin was killed in his jail cell.

We were there to comfort our Aunt, who displayed calm and grace throughout the whole ordeal.

I've been closer than you think.

Race will always be an issue. When people are struggling, financially, feel lonely, or isolated, they naturally gravitate towards other like them and shun others who aren't.

Look at the make up and seating @ a college cafeteria.

There is also an irrational view of life bred into some poeple as well. They hold themselves back because they've been told by parents and others in the community that the country is against them and will always be held back. I have MANY friends/acquaintances that feel that way, and it's a shame when I see them passing on that nonsense to their children.

So because I studied the evidence and came to my own conclusion, I'm a parrot?

You call me a parrot simply because I'm not squawking to your tune, I think. I studied all of the evidence, and came to realize that Wilson would not face indictment. I even made several posts predicting this would happen. So, being right makes me wrong somehow?
