I was watching the History channel and there was a program on called "The Devil's Graveyards" and it really caught my attention. I didn't catch the entire show but from what I heard I could gather this: The Vile Vertices are situated all around the world in specific locations based on Latitude. These vertices are places of some very strange phenomena such as bizarre animal attacks, strange weather patterns, and the disappearance of jets.

Something that caught my attention was when a scientist on the show said that these "Vile Vertices" were causing the earth's magnetic core to slow down which they said is the same thing which happened to Mars and Venus.

Here's a map of the Vertices:
en.wikipedia.org.../File:Vile_Vortices_Map.png

Here's information about the TV show I watched:

A scientist searches for answers to his son's mysterious death in the Algerian desert and discovers a vortex of unexplained activity similar to the Bermuda Triangle. His investigation uncovers eleven other "Vile Vortices" around the world where some of the planet's most unusual and disturbing events are taking place. Bizarre animal attacks, unexplained weather patterns, and passenger jets disappearing right out of the sky might only be the beginning of a greater, looming threat. Could these vortices have been created by extra-terrestrials? Is the government hiding their existence? Can anything be done to neutralize them?

Here's some info from Wiki:

The Vortices[edit]
Sanderson asserts that twelve "vortices" are situated along particular lines of latitude.[1]

The best known of the so-called "vortices" is the Bermuda Triangle. Others include Algerian Megaliths to the south of Timbuktu, the Indus Valley in Pakistan, especially the city of Mohenjo Daro, Hamakulia Volcano in Hawaii, the "Devil's Sea" near Japan and the South Atlantic Anomaly.[2] Five of the vortices are on the same latitude to the south of the equator; five are on the same latitude to the north. The other two are the north and south poles.

The idea has been taken up by other fringe writers, who have argued that the vortices are linked to "subtle matter energy", "ley lines" or "electro-magnetic aberration".

Paul Begg, in a series of articles for The Unexplained magazine, criticized the methodology of writers on the subject of unexplained disappearances. He checked original records of the alleged incidents. Often, he found, the ships which were claimed to have 'mysteriously disappeared' had a mundane reason for their loss (see for instance Raifuku Maru). Some were lost in storms, although the vortex writers would claim that the weather was fine at the time. In other cases, locations of losses were changed to fit the location of the vortex. Sometimes no record of the ship even existing in the first place was found.

Has anyone else heard of these "Vile Vertices?" I had never heard of them...I heard of a so-called Devil's Triangle near Japan but that's as far as it went. Apparently, the Nazi's were trying to use an element that I think is called "Iso 26" from one of the Vile Vertice sites to build a super weapon but they were caught in an explosion. If any of this is true, then this is the Ultimate Doom Porn. What says ATS?

Maybe you didn't notice, but at the end they flashed for a VERY brief second that this show was a dramatization of an "actual event" that took place in the 70's, I believe.

I caught about the last half of it, and it quickly became obvious that it was fiction pretending to be a documentary. I hate when they do that. The acting by the main guy was terrible. Lost all credibility with me then.

I had never heard of the name Vile Vertices, but know the ones like Bermuda, Mohenjo Daro and Japan. But thanks for bringing them to my attention, gives me something new to look in to.

ETA: Well, if it's a hoax by the History Channel, I won't be looking in to it.
Hate it when they pull that stuff.

I also have never heard that term.

Interestingly, the map from your wiki source, shows one of these Vile Vertices directly over the area where MH370 went missing.

Dun, Dun, Dunnnnnnnn.

Dramatization, maybe but these vertices do exist and strange occurrences do happen around them.

It's so infuriating when "The History Chanel" produces a two hour long program that represents itself as a ground-breaking documentary only to read at the end the following, which appeared for literally one second (I froze the screen):

"This dramatized program is inspired by an actual 1972 document entitled "The 12 Devil's Graveyards Around the World." The personal opinions and theories expressed are not endorsed by the network."

This is how the program summary appears:

The Devil's Graveyards The Devil's Graveyards
MON NOVEMBER 17, 12:00 AM

A scientist searches for answers to his son's mysterious death in the Algerian desert, and discovers a vortex of unexplained activity similar to the Bermuda Triangle. His investigation uncovers eleven other "Vile Vortices" around the world, where some of the planet's most unusual and disturbing events are taking place. Could these vortices have been created by extra-terrestrials? Is the government hiding their existence? And can anything be done to neutralize them? This program follows the expedition as they race to unlock the secrets at all costs.

My issue is that they clearly indicate at the end of this episode that the Scientist and his crew died during the filming of this episode -

That is a lie and I will never believe anything the History Channel puts on again, ever.

Doesn't it say Ivan Sanderson misinformed his readers about the fate of some of the ships as being mysterious, when there was a 'mundane' reason for the losses. If that's true, then Sanderson shot himself in the foot, as well as making his story doubtful, even had there been something unusual is there somewhere.

Rather peculiar, I'd say.

I am open to the theory of vertices.

I'm just saying that little notice at the end causes me to disregard everything presented in that farce. The fact that they flashed it so quickly causes me to disregard everything presented by them, period.

I was just wondering, what if the story was based on a lot of facts but our government required a disclaimer to be able to deny everything associated with these triangles? Then they added in a fictional story so that if anyone tried to reveal the truth, everyone could simply point to the show and say it's fake. It would be much easier to hide the truth if you used some of the truth and mixed it in with a fake story to deny everything or make people think there's nothing to it. It's not the first time I heard about certain triangle areas where ships and planes disappear.

Of course being able to tell apart fact from fiction would be impossible from watching such a show unless you attempted to duplicate the experiments.
