Saddening to my mind, this would seem contrived but came to my mind as I ready your thread post.


But a book left unread and a mind that is closed, such is the fate of the dead who turned away too soon from the road.

Very sad and painful but one who has seen the emptiness and that which is worse would say every breath is a mountain unclimbed and every moment do we step into a new world for there is no past, no future only the now so why fear what does not exist and why flee from what is no more, I am not who I was yesterday and the man of tomorrow I will never meet even if I a times hate the man of the now so as in the old adage Carpe Deum my friend and though loved ones are sorely missed and have gone on ahead there is no rush to catch up with them, they will wait and the last thing they would want is to be our end.

Still some mountains are too high to climb and when we fall too often we no longer wish to stand and try again and sometimes we just wish to close that book but what of the story's proper end.

Actually yes but where the saying originated I don't know but likely a perversion of some classical work.
I always preferred the Klingon adage, Revenge is a dish best served cold, of course by that time revenge is pointless not that I am in any way vindictive as I doubt I have ever avenged myself upon anyone though often I have been wronged as have we all or at lease most of us.

Revenge as a cold dish is a dish that I think does not give heat to the chef of said dish. As I understand it anyway.

Exactly, the page must be turned or for what is worst the unknown fear that is the real monster in the closet or passing through the storm that every ship must at times ride out as best it can.

Sometimes it is better to open the closet and scare the monster of our own fears by facing it with determination even when we think we can not, strength can come from surprising places and comfort in a living memory of one who cared that still lives within us as we live with if we do not then what of that little bit of life our beloved had within us.

Indeed. We do absolutely all fall short. Having people there for you when you do, says a lot. Being there for people when they do... says a lot.

A divided house can not stand.
