So Rush Limbaugh is supposed to be a "news source"? That's the most shocking thing here. I thought he was some sort of male Ann Coulter, who hates anything that moves that isn't him.

Seriously, I had no idea he is supposed to be a "news source". That's hilarious!

Am I to assume that you have no issue with ' The Colbert Report', or 'The Daily Show' being listed as news sources, since you mentioned Limbaugh, and not them?

Correct. They are comedy news shows. Tongue-in-cheek.

Tongue-in-cheek, or not, those shows ARE used as actual news sources by many of the more uninformed, which is why I found it interesting that you took issue with Limbaugh being labeled as a 'news source', and not with those two shows being labeled likewise.

I cannot lie. I like the eye candy.

But a member here, buster, has a great meme of Walter Cronkite.

News used to be just a medium where the events of the day were presented without any editorial embellishments.

Probably had something to do with the defunct Fairness Doctrine.

Fox News is fair and balanced.
They even say so.

MSNBC leans forward.
The only reason why I lean forward is to occasionally break wind.

So I'm going to have to go with Fox.

Yeah, some are better than others at times or as a rule, or have better track records, but they all still pretty much have agendas they stick to, which invalidates them overall for me because I have to think about every blessed story and can't really rely on whether they are or are not slanting it in a particular case. As a rule I always check both sides and then try to figure it out for myself. But as I said before, time is limited....

Has anyone seen some of the ladies on the Spanish News networks?

My Hispanic friend would watch them all the time. I didn't know what they were saying but they looked very, ummm, Smart.

I didn't realize rush limbaugh was considered a news source. Pretty sure it is an opinionated show, not a news source...

Either way, if you trust polls you are truly ignorant. Not saying that these news sources should be trusted, but seriously? C'mon...

Agreed. Limbaugh, Stewart, Colbert, Beck, and Hannity (among others) are NOT reporters, they're pundits. Unfortunately, even most 'reporters' have become pundits as well.

Hmm, maybe I should just let go, and allow myself to be manipulated.

No! Never! Then again...

Damn those dastardly MSM networks! Obtaining access to the brain through the testes!

You guys aren't as easily swayed in that manner. You let emotions, and stuff like that, get in the way.. lol.

At the risk of sounding crass, put a hot chick in front of a guy, and he'll pay attention to anything she says. Put a hot guy in front of a chick, and she'll look him over while he speaks, but her own inner dialogue interferes with his message.

If being asked about your belief in the veracity of your sources was offensive then I apologize.

I spoke of the "omissions from sources". Like the ISIS crisis. The omission there is Syrians. Had nothing to do with any alternative sources you claim I receive my news from.

I don't believe any of them are truthful either, so you know. Which ones are your favorites?

I have no favorites

I'll watch a report here or there depending if there is something of interest 'breaking'

All too often I'll spot omissions or incorrect historical facts or references, whatever News source it is I'll hop online soon after and do some reference searches to see if what has been spewed is factual, accurate or simply something that was only an opinion piece which some will later post as an example of a 'News Report'

Even though they know it was just the commentators opinion and not fact.

Same here. Love comparing news sources, too. They each omit and reveal things the other won't.

The I read "between them". After that I come here.

Far be it from me to ever, under any circumstance, consider "rush limbaugh' a news source. I mentioned him only because he is listed on the "untrusted list'. Perhaps first. Thus, my shock that he was considered a 'news source..

Again,he's anything but.

I once heard John Stewart reacting to the comment that he is where people get their news. He was begging them "no, no, please don't say that". He said he's scared for anyone who relys on him for news. Nonetheless, his opinions have value. It's a comedy show. He purports to be nothing else. At least he's honest.

Sometimes our over tech world works against facts though.

News report

"The authorities believe there are possibly more than one gunmen and may be as many as 3"

A person hears that then immediately TWEETS

"The NEWS is saying there are more than 3 gunmen"

Then when the dust settles it was found out that there was only one.

Then Conspiracies start about "Why would the NEWS report there were more than one, strange cover-up, must be hiding something" etc...

Happens all the time.

Ah, an expert on how women think. Not many people would make that claim.

If I were an expert on how women think, I wouldn't be on my third marriage.

However, I have plenty of research "in the field".
