All school and government buildings are on lockdown, bridges are being watched not sure if completely closed. The US embassy is on lockdown. It's located very close to parliament buildings.

More Info: Canadian Forces are being ordered to not wear their Military Uniforms unless they are headed to or on a military base. If we assume that the attack yesterday is related to this one it's obvious that these people are targeting Canadian Soldiers. Good Call on their part.

Also Canadian Prime Minister Steven Harper is going to be holding a press conference at some point this afternoon.

There was more than 1 shooter....I am sure it will be linked to a group. And while many can say don't jump to conclusions, the likelihood of it being a Muslim extremist group is higher than the likelihood of it being any other group at this time in Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if it is found that the ones responsible for this went to the same place of worship as the one responsible for the other attack running over the soldiers.

Senseless. What the hell are these gunmen trying to do, say, or prove? I'm dumbfounded. Whatever their affiliation is, can't they see that this is a no-win situation for them?

No but two incidents here in Victoria, Australia at A naval base and a army barracks last week and today have had me concerned - and downplayed by authorities. First incident was an able seaman being caught with diesel and fertilizer at his residence - and today - white power found at barracks but been cleared.

Just the one from the FBI last week about elevated chatter about attacks in the U.S. against law enforcement. They raised the vigilance on that letter today.

Sad day today for my Country, the poor soldier died.. A moment of silence for him.
I'm in Ottawa and Downtown still on lock and Police and RCMP and JTF2 are on scene, they are still looking for 2nd suspect.

If you really believe that these acts do not allow for more government control over civilians then you should check your own "tripe"

you believe that terrorism is not playing into the hands of those that seek more and more authority?

More Info: Hockey Game tonight between the Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs has been canceled.

Also the American Government has offered up any support that might be needed in Ottawa.
