The knowingness behind a trick like that is just creepy. It's obviously exploitative and sees fellow citizens as marks to screw over. Assholes see everyone else as assholes and forget an unfair ticket can be enough to put a family under.

Its called an opticon. Emergency vehicles use them to quickly get through intersections. An IR filter will hide the light. They are universal.

The device you want is called a MIRT device.

Its a IR strobe that can not be seen by the human eye.

There is a problem though,

Many cities have rigged there red light cameras to take photos of all Vehicles that are MIRT equipped.

The fine for illegally using a MIRT device is a lot higher then the fine for running a red light.

Those license plate covers that bend the light and obscure the picture are like 10 bucks on ebay.

And the strobe itself isn't IR just the lens filter

There are lots of these on UK roads and it's pretty common to see ones that have had the lens spray painted or blocked, or even to see ones that have been burned. Websites are dedicated to sharing pics of particularly inventive examples.

I believe it's also against the law here to have a speed/signal camera that is not preceded by a sign warning you of it's presence.

I don't know what kind of revenue that generate, but many here feel it's a significant way of funding certain services.

I just got a ticket in the mail for my hubby. He's working in Iowa, and apparently there's a speed camera set up right before the speed limit ups from 35 to 45. He got busted at 10:30 pm and the camera is angled so you can't see that the 45 mph signpost is 20 ft past the light. I was there visiting him in August, so I know exactly which light he was at and that there's no sign posted stating there's a speed camera there.

In fact, he was told by many locals that they thought the cameras didn't even work. Funny how they seem to work for him and other guys with out of state plates. Mail them a ticket that can be paid online if they are no longer in town a month later to go to court.

How did we get to a point where a fine is based on income? I think most fines these days are ridiculous anyways so we want to now make people pay more? In the small town where I work the company I'm with is the biggest in the area and a parking ticket in front of my employment is 75.00 if you park there longer than 2 hour... geez. We have the highest income in the area so I think they are already doing it. The cops also set up speed traps in areas where only our employees would typically travel.

You all must understand that fines are just a money making business that do not prevent anything and have nothing to do with safely. The true prevention is building points to where one looses their driving privileges and everyone is acceptable to that.

Ya I love this... Pay or come back a month later. I got a ticket in 1983 in OK, I had to follow the cop to the court house and pay cash...30 years later I have a suspension notice from OK when I went to renew my drivers license in Wa. They must have connected systems so somehow I got tagged. After a few days a court person had to go back into some paper file system in the basement to find my ticket. It showed that I paid, but I still had to pay to get my 30 year old driver license un-suspended so that Wa could issue me my new one....I had the option to go see the Judge too...lol, like I would fly back there to get a 70.00 ticket thrown out...

No. The entire point of every report tyt do is to push a crap liberal agenda. Sure the report is about corruption, but then they go on to talk about how ticketing people altogether is a form of unprogressive taxation that doesn't fine people an amount according to what income bracket they fall in.

In the case of the corrupt changing of the traffic light program, it is despicable and no one deserves any fine. But, in every other case, the solution to your problem is to not commit crimes. Or do you believe fines for speeding should be 10,000 dollars for going five over if you're rich enough to afford that insanity?

I addressed the point just fine. Progressive tax and corrupt and unjust fines are equally despicable.

You can't blame the rich for the poor being poor. The poor are poor because of mindsets like yours that hate the idea of someone being rich. How can you complain about poverty, and in the same sentence complain about wealth? You make no sense.

You complain about poverty, yet you trash anything that motivates one to get out of it, and once they get out of it, you complain that they're out.

The rich aren't to blame for the poor being poor. Take some personal responsibility for yourself. If you're poor... its your fault. If you went to a four year school and can't find a job. You chose the wrong career. If you didn't take advantage of the Pell Grant and didn't go to school. You're a poor idiot. If you got pregnant at 16 and had to drop out of school. You should have used the free birth control. There are plenty of opportunities for Americans to excel in this economy, and if you're still poor through all of the opportunity afforded to you, its not the fault of the CEOs who, in fact, are the creators of jobs in the first place, its your fault for not taking advantage of the opportunities and getting yourself out of feeling sorry for yourself and becoming qualified for a job. If you are poor in America, its your fault and you deserve to be poor.

If you can't be responsible enough to take care of yourself, even with the ample opportunity available for you to do so, I sure as hell don't want to pick up your slack. If you have a problem with speeding tickets and can't afford them. Stop being poor. Take advantage of the opportunities that are available. There are plenty.
