No if the officer was assaulted by Michael Brown, then the reason for all the shots is that the police officer is running on adrenaline and fear. Fear, adrenaline and possible injury can cloud your decision. Also, don't try to argue that the CNN report proves that the officer was not injured. The CNN report deals with the initial X-Ray performed when Officer Wilson went to ER. It does not cover any follow up testing that a specialist/plastic surgeon probably requested. Remember the right wing blog was talking about a CT scan not an X Ray. An X Ray would be done in conjunction with the ER visit. A MRI or CT Scan would be done in conjunction with a follow up visit to a specialist.

There is no proof to what your saying. Just witness account that have yet to be cross examined and verified. You are correct that nobody needs to die for a theft, but there is no proof that is the main reason for the shooting. And all you have done is vilify the police person like some have vilified Michael Brown. It just makes you look biased.

Well, goodness knows, one wouldn't want to appear biased in one's presentation on this discussion, would one?

Goodness no.

Oh he was harassed for walking in the street and then shot. That's much better.

What's your definition of "harassed" as opposed to being asked to walk on a sidewalk where a pedestrian should be walking instead of the street with vehicles? In that case he should have been cited for jaywalking. So that gave Brown the right to assault a cop? He got what he deserved for attacking a cop, and even had ample warning after that.

There is proof that Brown assaulted Wilson?

Must've missed that. Could you link?

Thank you kindly.

See that's the problem right there. Brown didn't deserve to die. The badge shouldn't elevate you above an American citizen. That's the attitude of a fascist nation.

Brown made mistakes and deserved to be tried and sentenced for them. Instead he was executed for the greatest crime of all in modern America : not submitting to authority

Alternatively, Wilson seems like he wasn't a bad guy. He was almost definitely following his programming. I bet he agonizes over killing that boy every day (I hope he does as killing a human should always be difficult and agonizing).

The point is everyone wants to blame either Wilson or Brown when both made mistakes and both were following their respective programming. There is no evidence that will solve this since every fact will be twisted to serve one agenda or the other. This thread shows that very thing happening.

The point is that black culture and cop culture are both riddled with serious issues that need addressing. Instead of seeking compromise and common ground both sides are just attacking and blaming the other. "I am Michael Brown" and "I am Darren Wilson" are both ridiculous. What happened to "I am myself"? Once again I'm begging people who are locked into one side or the other to try and understand the other side. We are all human and the only winners of these binary us vs them fights are the ruling class who watch the news and laugh at both sides. We are but an amusing sideshow to them. We are the ants, they are the kid with a magnifying glass.

Or that he charged...
Another witness came out and said he did nothing of the sort, at the very most staggered to the officer after getting shot.
No eye witness has said brown charged wislon.

Yep, as is stated in the OP article:

"Police officers typically have wide latitude to use lethal force if they reasonably believe that they are in imminent danger".

You're kidding, right? A witness from a black neighborhood like Ferguson supporting a white cop's version of events, after being intimidated by 'Snitches get stitches"?

"First of all the key problem here is strictly limited to the very few witnesses who will speak out and this is a VERY small list precisely because of the nonjudicial sentence carried out as scribbled by locals on the wall of the burnt out convenience store “snitches get stitches.” There were a LOT of witnesses to this confrontation as we can see from phone cams of the scene. NONE have come out publicly".

a reply to: tavi45 That's it just ignore the evidence. I don't think the cop even knew he was a thief, brown was walking down the middle of the street and was told to move, poor Mr brown can't follow laws, doesn't think laws pertain to him thinks the cop was just another person to bully. ( reality check) Looks like the evidence also shows the witnesses stories to be just that. Stop it with the poor pitiful woe is me sob story twallop. Everyone is to blame for the black community's problems except the black people themselves. In the 1920s and 30s blacks had a higher marriage rate than whites, actual fathers in the households. You don't have to look any further than that..(hows the president working out for you all?)

The phone cams do not show a lot of witnesses, they show people that have come outside cause of all the commotion.

Strange how all we have supporting his side is 'josie' and what some seem to think is the guy in the background of a video supporting it but IDK how anyone can make heads or tails of what is being said over all the other noise and other people talking.

Any unnamed sources? Can't get stitches if no one knows your name

I don't know where you live, but here in Philly "unnamed" sources still fear that they will be found out. Regardless, this is a waste of time argument. We can go back and forth. No charges will be brought against Wilson. Then the citizens of Ferguson can throw a hissy-fit and burn their city down..

I won't believe the police versions of events which always winds up being the suspect charging at police and trying to grab their gun instead of doing the obvious thing, run.

The city of Ferguson broke multiple laws when not releasing various pieces of evidence, or lying about certain things in order to stretch time out.

Thug? Maybe, he was on video grabbing things angrily for whatever reason, but those type of individuals are more likely to be born in our inner city populations due to the type of social engineering we have endured. Ruinous and destructive laws/ordinances resulting in destroyed local economies bringing poverty and loss of autonomy, welfare state resulting in erosion of self sufficiency, trafficked drugs and guns which brings about violence and break down of family structure, then the dissemination of a negative, shallow culture to the population via pervasive mass media entertainment such as TV, radio, newspaper, magazine, etc... resulting in the eventual adoption of said culture because of it's false, synthetic portrayal of our supposed inherent tendencies and inclinations. This brings about ignorance.

Let it fester for a few generations, and you have what we see today.

Ya cause we live in a nation where cops get off killing people with a simple "I was in fear for my life and didn't have any other choice" explanation.

No kidding but cops in the old days would try to subdue not kill. You are here to protect the citizens. No matter what someone does your obligation is to kill ONLY as a last resort. It seems to be the first option lately when the authority of a cop is questioned.

What's your response to cases of cops killing unarmed men in the night after breaking into their home without warning? Don't uh exist near a cop?

That last paragraph was dead on. Wish I had your way with words. They've really dive an amazing job with their agenda. The only person in real life I know who can see what I see is an immigrant who lived through a brutal dictatorship. She's struggling to protect her kids from the indoctrination process.

Call me racist but I am tired of black thugs, why put them in jail, so they can make a rap album over the phone?

If you have the gonads to attack a cop, pay the price.

I am white as hell and they would shoot me down just the same.

Guess who doesn't have thugs roaming the streets attacking cops? Singapore - and mostly because people genuinely fear the consequences of there actions, what a concept.

It's probably because Singapore doesn't have centuries of racism warfare in their history. Or maybe because running a tiny super wealthy city state is easier than running a massive and diverse nation.

Maybe he wouldn't be stealing dirt cheap things or being aggressive if he wasn't part of an oppressed demonized underclass.

So stealing something that's cheap is OK? Or better yet stealing because he is "oppressed" by bad whitey makes it OK?

The guy stole a handful of blunts and then got very aggressive with the store owner when confronted about it. Plain as day to see on the tape.

People like you say that it has nothing to do with how he was treated by the police.....Oh really? The guy obviously had a bad attitude and was a bully, yet that has nothing to do with it. Funny how at first all of the "eyewitnesses" to the event said the shooting was unprovoked, then when it came out that the cop had bruises on his face and was attacked, of course that fact is conveniently ignored by these same "eyewitnesses". I've seen news crews asking protesters about it and they just totally ignore the question like it does'nt matter.

He charged/attacked a cop and got exactly what he deserved. I'm white and would have ended up the same way if I had done the same stupid thing he did.

All the evidence in the world doesn't change the root cause of the anger of the black community. They're tired of being oppressed after fighting for equality for some 200 years.

I've never oppressed anyone. I've never owned slaves. None of my ancestors ever owned slaves. The black community needs to get over themselves already. So sick of the "I'm oppressed by whitey" card being played constantly.

Guess what we are all oppressed in this day and age. Funny how the black community blames all of their problems on everyone but themselves. I'm oppressed too, does that give me the right to steal stuff and attack a cop?

It's probably because Singapore doesn't have centuries of racism warfare in their history.

Oh really?
