when the cover is better than the original

i love it when it happens.

when i think covers that are better than the original i always think of the cover gary moore did of red house by hendrix.

i know most prob wont agree on this cause you know, its hendrix but i think gary's version is better

Yeah Jimmy Hendrix - All along the watchtower by Bob Dylan. I've heard a rock version by Dylan too but Hendrix made it superb.

Both blow away the original, in my mind.

I completely agree.

I think Dylan is great, but I often prefer covers of his songs.

I dig Al Green's version of 'Broken Heart' more than the original. I LOVE the Bee Gees, but damn, Al Green's version is just so bad ass!

Dylan has probably been covered by more bands than anyone. Dylan's singing is, well, an acquired taste. I think his songs are meant to be covered and reinterpreted. Besides it makes me cool when my sons favorite band covers Dylan and I can sing all the words.
