CDC director to face a series of tough questions

Just now getting started. This should be interesting.
edit on 10/16/2014 by Neysa because: link

CDC Director Thomas Frieden will likely face a series of tough questions from members of both parties about why his agency failed to put clearer procedures in place to track those exposed to the virus, as well as its assessment that most hospitals were equipped to handle Ebola patients.

WARNING
Make sure you have your sound turned down low. They are having audio difficulties and I nearly had my ear drums blown out my nose.

The guys in front of the camera are complete idiots if they don't realise what they are doing by now. The one guy keeps bumping into it.

Well, it's clear that Murphy's opening statement promises fireworks.

Someone needs to preemptively call tech support and secure the hard drives.

great opening statements, probably laying out all the questions we have all been asking .. now lets see how they answer each one...

Degette looks fairly aggressive too. So at least it wont be too partisan.

This whole temperature taking thing is ridiculous. Just because someone doesn't have a fever does not mean they are not infected. It can take up to 21 days to show symptoms, no? So it only stops people who are symptomatic from entering the country. So freaking stupid.

how can you get ahead of a threat when you are unsure were the head of the threat actually is?

Oh here we go...let's blame the current crisis (oops, sorry, incidents) on the sequestration.

Well, okay then...I hold every member of congress in contempt. Mr. Chairman, will the sergeant at arms escort all members of Congress to the holding cells...where they will be sequestered until they agree to get off their duffs and do their jobs!

I hope there is one intelligent person there

Some one that has half a brain?
And can actually speak for themselves

I can't stand CNN because they are mostly all robots.....

So I guess we will see how this goes?????????

Frieden: "We know how to control Ebola."

[except, of course, at the hospital in Dallas]

i fear this is going to be more of the same ,

i wonder how much it costs to set up this hearing, all the wages of all the people sitting their, the equipment etc etc , seems to me these guys should be out there directing the battle not trying to direct public opinion.

the greatest leaders in history have always led from the front..

So get on the front!

I am having trouble listening to this, they are just repeating the same old blablabla as they have since the beginning. If they want people to stop panicking they need to try doing something different, quite possibly something that WORKS.

Stop wasting time blaming and get to work on solutions.

Already focusing less on US and shifting it to control in Africa. Are we going to go digging for king solomon's mines now? I'm hearing a whole lot of 'this is what we do', but not a whole lot of 'this is how it happened.'
