I do hope it is rediculous and that certain factors have sked the numbers but when you view the death rate of people treated in the us the numbers are clear.

Finally when he got real sick and went to the hospital, that is when he came clean about him just coming from Liberia
From all accounts I read on him, the hospital did what they knew to do

ON TOPIC - Schools in Ohio and Texas closed. Frontier Airlines has lost millions on lost airfares and a plane being out of service, not to mention all the work being done to the plane. Frontier AND the schools have people out of work because of this but still getting paid. This woman and her dress shopping trip have caused a lot of financial loss ... millions of dollars worth of financial loss. Frontier should sue.

If the proper guidelines were in place then she would never have had the option to board the plane. Others will follow in simular footsteps of her if this continues and we need the right actions to combat this. Putting the blame on the person and not the policies only sets us up for a repeat of the event. Perhaps all the healthcare workers that care for ebola victims will need to be monitered more closely or perhaps it would have never happened if the people she works for would have had her in full protection not having her shoes exposed.

Yes in this thread you have been demonizing her and not focusing on how her bosses failed. Linens piled 6 foot high in his room. Sending her into a room with a gown on to treat him and then giving her permission to fly is what the problem is. We have thousands of nurses like her that do what they are told and we must hold the guidelines and the bosses responsible for what they do.

Looks like some schools in tx are shut down too. I say good on them for acknowledging that a certain amount of danger exist until all the places of treatment are on the same page. Clearly some balls were dropped in dallas and it is just a matter of time before it is under control.

No. Telling the truth isn't demonizing. I have stated that the CDC screwed up. But the fact is she is responsible for her own decisions ... her decision to travel while knowing she's sick after being exposed to ebola. That's on her. It was a stupid thing for her to do.

Drunk driving is against the law no matter who tells you otherwise. However flying on a plane with ebola is not against the law right now.

It is only race baiting because of how you view it. Fact is that mostly black people are losing their life to ebola and of all those treated in the us only a black man has died from it. It may be too early to know for sure but so far it points to blacks are at more risk of being killed in the us from ebola. That does not make it about the way we view race but how the virus views race.

The Emory hospital in Atlanta is one of the few that is actually set up to handle patients with Ebola, among other diseases
Despite what the CDC says, most average hospitals ARE NOT educated/equipped enough to handle taking care of patients that have Ebola, as is what happened with the case of Mr.Duncan in Texas

They admitted to not diagnosing his symptoms at first, which cost him his life
Basically, it was lack of not knowing what to do
The hospital/staff was not ready for such a case as is what Emory specializes in

Not to mention Mr.Duncan might have prevented this by telling the truth to begin with and he probably would have been sent to specialists that would know what to do to help him
Also, as a side note, the husband to the nurse asst. in Spain that was infected was furious because his wife only got 30 minutes training

I get all that and i will shut my mouth when the two nurses are healed. I am sure you are aware of the implications if a black nurse looses her life and the non black nurse lives. So far it is not looking good at all. YOU PEOPLE are so shell shocked from the thought of being labeled a racist to even phathom the outcomes without someone like me bringing them to your attention. Honestly i am praying for them and all the contacts.

Duncan could not take the blood of the donor.
The others could because they were blood match.

I am interested in knowiing more about the influences that has led some to make very poor decisions when they are faced with the virus. My stance that the protection guidelines from the top will keep this spread down if we get it right but one can not ignore the bad decisions being made up and down the chain. I firmly believe that just chalking it up to stupidity does not explain why some are spreading the virus even when they logically do not want people hurt. I believe all the infected if givin the simple choice of wanting the virus to spread or not they would choose not but when other factors are in play they make decisions that infect and put many at risk. I do not doubt all the logical reasons we are in this series of unfortunate events but like i said if you take a broader look the numbers do tell a story in themselves. Call it luck or written in the stars but it is what it is. It is something to watch all this unfold. The fact that each infected person is infecting 2 other people is some scary evil trinity.

They didn't diagnose it correct at first, they admitted to that
They also admitted that they were not prepared to deal with Ebola, since they are not like Emory Hosp. in Atlanta that does specialize in disease
And, once again, your man failed to tell a soul about where he had been, being Liberia, so he was at fault too!!
The hospital in Texas knows they messed up but it had to do with their inexperience, not his skin color
