Untitled (poem)

Trust is hard to give my friend,
I hardly do it anymore.
Been hurt by other people,
Too many times in life before.


Hardened my heart to one and all,
Thought that was how I should be,
Left no room for love in my life,
Turned cold and hard eventually.


Found new hope when I met you,
You proved you were so much more.
I dreamed of all the possibilities,
That I dared not think about before.


But I push you away again and again,
I guess old habits really do die hard.
I want to move forward desperately,
But can't seem to let down my guard.

Hold on a little longer please,
It's something you won't regret.
I have so much love to give to you,
Don't give up on me just yet.
