Pat Robertson is not an example of a true Christian. He's an example of greedy puppets in power to manipulate, divide and profit.

You hit the nail on the head there.

So we should let the free market decide what's on tv.... I'm ok with that. People will watch what they want and the shows that don't get the ratings will go away.
How long until Marlboro commercials are back on tv? Since tv is a free market. ..

He's instrumental in making Christians look bad, not that he cares since he's raking in plenty of dough.

Speaking as a Muslim...

This must be generalised in relation to all Christians because that what he said...
I'm going to lump them all together for the sake of it without a shred of knowledge...
He represents the whole of Christianity...

On a serious note maybe he does seeing as they give him so much money that other members have been talking about...

Think about that!!!

He should let Jesus handle it when he returns then, right

It is food for thought, and I know you are being wry but you reveal a truth at the same time

On an altogether more scurrilous tip what did JC pop out for when Pat and his chums started to watch all this gay stuff on their telly? Nibbles, beers, more poppers? And what happens when he does return?

Glad you saw where I was going with that...
Thought it may have come across confusing...
Does make one wonder though...

Personally I think Jesus will be a bit busy with the Dajjal to be giving a # about the Gay community...

Well there is difficulty trying to dodge Satan's Filth in the media.

It's like it's everywhere the last few decades.

Wild times indeed !!

Homosexuality is satan's filth?

I'm sure you aren't such a dick to have meant that.

What a whiner. He could always do what I do and not watch Tellevilzion since it is just filth. But then he wouldn't get any money!

Pat Robertson is arguably the least Christian of all the advocates for Christianity. He's pretty much a joke to anyone who isn't brain dead.

Yet his "ministry" rakes in millions a year. Somebody is sending him that money, and agrees with what he is espousing. Scary thought, huh?

I'll be honest here. I'll take Pat and the rest of the morally outraged more seriously when they:

1) Decry and demand an end to the culture of for-profit war.

2) Demand our Congress actually fund our vets when they return home from the wars we get into anyway.

The only pornography in our culture is our insane addiction to war, violence, "professional sports," and blind obedience to unworthy authority.

the tragedy is that one needn't be a "christian" to understand what he's saying is true
/quote]

Exactly. Homosexuality is against nature. All the God stuff aside.
The other filth in Hollywood is terrible too. Murder and bloodshed pretty much HAS to be in any movie nowadays even if its a comedy. I can provide examples if need be.
Drug use is glorified in almost every movie. Now as you can see from the first half of my time its fairly obvious that I'm not against drug use at all , but Im against it being glorified in media.
Children see everything these days , the rating system does not matter.
I saw a ton of parents buying their 9 or 10 year old children the newest Grand Theft Auto game.
Alot of you will say oh its just a game , well it still desenitizes you to the idea of pointing a gun or hurting another individual. Ofcourse the reality sets in when the deed is done though.
Children should never be exposed to any of that. If they want to be gay , awesome. Want to be on drugs? Go for it. Murder people? Id rather not , but if it makes you happy.
But don't allow people mainly children be exposed to that garbage constantly and have seeds planted in their mind. Turn it off isnt always the option when its everywhere evem when you walk into a store such as best buy or walmart.

I wonder what issues he bitched about when I was growing up. Born in '65.

The prime time shows I remember watching weekly were Disney- a lot of Kurt Russell movies, the Waltons and little house on the prarie.
Adam-12 and Emergency, Gentle Ben and Grizzly Adams.

As we got older Charlies Angels came out...

TV today is pretty much all cop shows or stupid sit coms that pretty much consist of one-liners. Every show does seem to have its gays and minority. They are usually the smart folk and the white man is the bumbling idiot.

I did see a funny ass commercial recently though.
A white guy gets pulled over by a black cop and gets a little bit harassed and the minority in the passenger seat asks for some pepper spray because his food needs some flavor.

kind of ironic to me

it seemed like we were raised by tv at times in the 50s and 60s, of course we still had censors so we had a lot of idyllic series and the music dance shows were popular as well as some good b/w reruns
it was great

He bitched about the same stuff. He's been bitching about moral degeneration forever while he is more degenerate than almost anyone. The ones with wealth and power always tell the peons they are awful. It's social control. The same things are happening in Iran. I guess Christians are no better than Muslims.

Scary is an understatement. The ones funding him are the ones creating division. And those being duped into donating. I'm a Christian and if I see something I don't like concerning sex or violence I just turn the page. No big deal, freedom of speech and press, etc for people to post it and say it.

It's just common sense to me. They wouldn't like being told they can't have sex on tv and murders, I wouldn't like being told I can't live my own life and have my own beliefs. Turn the other cheek.

Hell, if he'd just stop wearing Rolex watches and tailor made suits, he'd have more credibility. LOL. "Just send me fifty dollars and I'll pray for you."

They should never have been taken off. One should be able to advertise a legal product if they want to.

This is a simple problem to solve. If I am watching television (which is admittedly less and less) and a show comes on featuring gay people I simply change the channel or turn it off. See? Problem solved.

Two points... 1) I agree with the OP, and 2) I am a VERY zealous fundamental Christian, and Pat Robertson doesn't speak for me, or any other real Christian. Pat Robertson is a false teacher and gives true Christianity a very bad name, along with the rest of the TV preachers.
