There was a documentary….very good. I will look for that link, as to how it was disseminated--you see they had to figure out how to make it, then market it where they wanted like a weapon…..and then watch it all tumble down.

This was not unknown, but good that more is coming out about it.

Basically the gist of what he is saying is correct though. Everything in Jakal26's post is correct. While it might be a different molecule it is basically Heroin by prescription. To someone that is Opiate naieve it is a far superior drug in terms of quality and longevity. With Heroin you never really know what you are getting and with Oxycodone you know exactly what you are getting and how much.

Either way Oxycodone, Morphine, Hydrocodone, Oxymorphone, Hydromorphone, Codeine, Dihydrocodeine, and others are basically a license to sell Heroin substitutes, and it is huge business for bigpharma. Some are direct derivatives, synthetics, or semi synthetics made from or copying the active ingredients in the poppy pod (Opium was/is made from the sap or "milk" which is excreted from the pods while still on the stock*) which is commonly grown in Afghanistan and is a huge agricultural product for them. I have even read reports of soldiers protecting poppy fields during the war. While a percentage of the poppy pods and their sap are sold on the black market after being turned into morphine then heroin a large percentage are bought for legal drug manufacturing and then sold to every day average Americans who in turn get addicted all the while cursing heroin addicts while being addicted to basically the same drug albeit route of administration is different and an "A OK" from the family doctor makes it morally and culturally(for a lack of a better term) acceptable.

It really is the most ironic and hypocritical thing I can think of. In other words the percocet and vicodin that used to be handed out by doctors and dentists like candy aren't that different than heroin, yet we don't bat an eye at taking them. I am willing to bet that 75%+ of houses in the U.S. have a bottle of one or the other in the medicine cabinet. Especially if someone on in the house is 50+ years old, or has recently had surgery, or dental work, or arthritis, etc..

*Opium is rarely sold now because it is economically inferior to producing heroin or pharmaceuticals and has a very small and niche market. Also note there are different strains of Poppy plants and most don't contain the active ingredients that are needed for these drugs. Papaver Somniferum is the one that is chemically active producing the sap and pods needed.

This is a topic I am quite knowledgeable in. I haven't been exact in all my explanation because it would take too long and isn't needed beyond getting the basic point across.

Other player on the scene who try to get in on the trade are taken out by drug enforcement tactics. Who are the top global 'drug lords'? Well, the profiteering from the illicit trade goes back at least to the opium trade with China whic had created a whole new wealthy merchant class. One might expect those folks have diversified their wealth and perhaps passed along the dirty dealing to other players but likely not ever completely given up their interests in it.

Gary Webb died from 'an apparent suicide' because there was a suicide note found, he had lost his home just prior, and could not find work. He was not one to give up easily, apparently, as he was found with TWO gunshot wounds to the head.

Yup, that's it. I highly recommend it. They're pretty open, those talking, about govmt. involvement. However, I don't think,or have faith, the true story of how this really came about is going to come out. And it's never safe to say it, either. Great, great thread, if only that it gets across the message to the younger kids today exactly the cluster F they're living in, and they are the only ones that can keep themselves safe. You must do it for yourself. Your government, most adults walking past you, won't protect you or tell you the truth, necessarily about drugs, or anything else. To be fair about that, though, I think there are a good many folks who don't even know the truth…..

Drugs are a weapon, folks, in case that message isn't getting across.

And yes, I think the Golden Triangle is doing so well for various political reasons, which aren't hard to figure out. It's also a great way to keep people not only dependent upon their governments, but keep the whole law enforcement/judicial/penal system alive and well, giving folks jobs and keeping the cash flow going. It's also a great way to cull weaker people.
Understand when I say these things, I am halfway sarcastic, and weep over such daily. I hate this is what life on this planet is degenerating to……

This probably started in Viet Nam. Sometimes I wonder if that's why we were so eager, as a country, politically, to go into Viet Nam. That and it was prime testing ground for human use experimentation on soldiers. Because they were out of the US there was little overseeing of what was happening with them on a man to man basis, or even groups (platoons) of men….

So, perfect conditions to try fabled drugs like the ladder, on them.
Also, perfect conditions to assess and begin the control of opium trafficking.
Anyway….to the last poster noting what group made and distributed the video in question: I noticed this too, immediately upon watching it. This is what I have to say about that, for what it's worth: Gary Webb was involved here, and knew and had a stake in outing this information. It's very important information, if true. People have died for it, getting it to you for your consideration. Sometimes we don't like where something comes from,and yet the information is important enough, we should dispense with the where it came from. Perhaps these were the only production companies willing to take on producing such material at the time. That is highly likely. Doesn't make the information presented any less cogent, relevant nor true….

Watch it, and then decide for yourself.

Yes, but the bigger point to Gary's death, making it mean something, really, is knowing what we are up against here.
I have done these drugs, myself. I know just how it can take over your life. I also know, as someone involved with
government issues, let's say, what's happened here and why.

There is a whole population that doesn't know anything about what we know, hereabouts. It's important, that they know what their government really is when they go vote. It's important that they killed Gary and why. And those of us left here, now, have a committment to follow through with, once knowing that.
Believe me, he knew what he faced, coming forward, that what happened to him might happen. That' s why it's all-important we continue the fight….

I'm sorry. This is an emotional issue for me, and I may not have expressed it the right way. But I remain solid in knowing that it IS NOT TOO LATE. And there is still something left to fight for. Gary Webb and all those who were suicided before him do nothing but reinforce to me that we still have something left to fight for, even such as it is. Let's make sure they didn't die for nothing, telling us what they did.
