Gorgeous pooch, Beez!

I always wanted a Siberian Husky/Wolf mix. I have read that anything over 65% wolf is dangerous, but long as it's below that, they SHOULD be safe. Don't quote me however.

I'm sure your pup will be a sweet loving family member.

She's a real sweetie.

Her favorite food is cheese. I don't get it, but she goes nuts for it.

If you can, it might be a good idea to set up some time to put her into a dog class. Try to socialize her as much as you can.

It's cool that she has taken to your wife and son, but one night when you come home late and the dog doesn't reconize you, could be a bad thing for your new baby and your family. They have it in them to protect. Nature

That was MY worry, but she hears my car come up the drive and starts whining and jumping at the door.

It's a great way to be greeted.

Congrats Beez. I hope you have her for a long long time.

Hopefully this will help you understand her wolf side, Cesar teamed up with a wolf specialist for this one.

Thanks for the link!

She's a permanent member of the family, I think the wife would get rid of me before she'd get rid of Bay.

Oh she's a cutie! Reminds me of my Zeppelin
He's Lab and Pit and sweet as can be. He gets along great with our other dog, a Chihuahua named Carmen. I am a firm believer that Labs and Lab/mixes make the greatest family dogs.

No worries.

Right now she's getting nothing but love and attention, plus some training thrown in the mix. We put our hands in her dog dish when she eats so she doesn't get food aggressive, we play but aren't too aggressive, at the same time, we always remind her that she's the beta and we are the alpha's.

In my humble, she has the disposition of a lab, but the loyalty and adherence to pack discipline of the wolf.

She's a sweetie.

She weighs 54 pounds at last check of the vet and still can't get through her head that she isn't a lap dog.

She's a LAB, not LAP!

Hua!

Thanks!

She'll love and adore her bunny overlords.

As will the rest of the planet-. . . oops. Too much.

Never mind.

LOL! Your's does that too? I've awakened from a nap on the couch many times being squished by a big black fur baby. You can't begrudge them the cuddles though, it's just too darn cute.

HOLY CRAP! ROCKY!

I had a dog just like that! I got him a few months ago but my sister in law REALLY liked him and him her, so I let him go to her house in the country about a month ago. Mine was a black lab /wolf mix! I even put a blue bandanna on him!

This is too cool.

Enjoy the spunky bastard. They are so loyal (well Rocky is to my sister in law LOL) and they great all around.

I just got an all white husky /wolf mix to fill the void. Got to have the wolf in there..lol

Congrats man.

I've heard of people looking for the wolf-mix in dogs.

Can't say I'm disappointed in ours.

I'm sold on our little pup!

Nothing better than a dog curling up to you on the sofa.

I blame my wife for that. If she could carry this big puppy around in her arms, she would!

Ahh yes, nothing like your dogs jumping all over and licking you out of excitement when you come home. Seriously. I love it. Gives me a reason to live lol.

No matter how bad a day it might have been, a pup going into tail-wagging spasms when you get home cures everything.

Will talk to the vet this week.

Allways see to it that they check her hip and elbow joints and eyes.
They will know deseases in those areas unfortunately occur all too frequently in this breed.
Access to water (swimming) will be preventative for her joints and also make her a happy and pleasing dog.

I don't know much about wolves, but I do know about Labs.

There are two things a Labrador is born to do, swim and retrieve. It's in their DNA. They're friendly, gentle, smart, loyal, working dogs. Probably one of the best breeds ever.

Used to have one by the name of Barkley who would follow me out into some pretty solid surf, not that I wanted him to. They're just fearless when it comes to the water.

They're probably the happiest when you put them to work fetching a ball. My hunch is you’ll rarely see the wolf in her, until she thinks it's necessary to protect her home or family. Then who's ever not family, better look out.

As much as I travel and work, having her at home makes me feel better about my family. Not that we live in a dangerous area, but it's that additional level of protection that is comforting.

I hear you. When it comes to effective home defense systems, it's hard to beat a cagey watch dog that's protecting its own turf.
