I once saw a kid with a crawly in his ear. He had been complaining of whizzing noises. He was never compliant to examination, so his doctor prescribed some antibiotic and hoped for the best. Eventually the noises quieted down, but the kid started complaining of pain and the mother noted a foul smelling discharge. When I peeked in I saw a dead insect, drowned in antibiotic solution.
I removed it, which was easier than it would have been if it were alive. I have yet to see a living ear-critter.

As soon as I saw the title, I knew it was going to be bug related. It's not so disturbing for me considering that's a Cricket of sorts by the looks of it. I'd be "eww-ing" if it was an ugly looking spider.

I just had a family friend over the summer go through this. They went canoeing and a few days later she was complaining about sharp pains in her ear. Went to the doc and sure enough had a cricket in her ear.

Gross stuff op.

Yes, luckily it was just a cricket type thing, but while it was in the ear it looked bloody alien, lol.

I could have gone all day without seeing that and been happily oblivious.

Has no one to blame but self clicking on the link.

Takes self and leaves thread....

I have known two people that had to have bugs removed from their ears. One a june bug and one a roach.

I once read about a kid that got spiders in his ear.

I think I might be tempted to go to sleep wearing earmuffs now.

I would immediately take that thing to my tarantula and feed it to him. Ehhh that's so disturbing. It just reminds me of that twilight zone episode. Good news it's out of your ear but the bad news is it's a female and was recently pregnant. Great now I need a hazmat suit to sleep tonight.
