Just heard that the Military has been using the new f-22 raptors in Syria. Everyone in the government has been very impressed so far by it's performance.

IMO, I feel like the was the perfect excuse to start bombing in Syria. To finally be able to use the very expensive new toy of the military industrial complex. I just find it rather curious that of all the times to use this thing we decide to use it now, against ISIL, in Syria. Maybe it's to just show Assad and Russia that we have a new toy to unleash.

Thoughts and opinions??

According to the F-22's unclassified specifications, it can drop a precision bomb from at least 15 miles away from its target.

And remember that it was Russia that shot down the mighty U2 that was thought to be impossible to shoot down.

The U-2 was thought to be impossible to shoot down because of the altitude it flies at. It was thought that no missile could reach that high. And if Powers hadn't screwed up they probably wouldn't have.

But no one has ever said that stealth is impossible to shoot down. Hell Serbia shot down an F-117 using a Vietnam era missile. The difference between stealth and a U-2 is that stealth is much harder to see until it's too late.

In this case it didn't matter, because they were carrying external stores, so they weren't stealthy.

They aren't missiles, they're bombs with glide kits. And no.
