And in UK mother and child killed at Slough train station were apparently pushed off platform into oncoming train! Question is this lone person listening to audio message from ISIS telling muslims to kill non-believers?

The Prime Minister is actually on his way to the United Nations for the Security Council Meeting. Pretty sure he has already left the country.

The person making the threats has been shot dead after stabbing 2 of the police who are on the terrorism taskforce.

details still very sketchy

For those just reading.
I dont recall ever anything like this happening in Australia.
We as a nation constantly complain, moan and bitch at our politicians.
They are at each others throats on tv and in the media.

It is truly a bizarre thing that a person is shot for something that seems so petty.
It will be interesting to see what comes from the breaking news

The guy shot had his visa cancelled recently, one of the two cops he stabbed before being shot dead was part of the anti terrorism unit.

Still think it's petty?

One of the officers stabbed has been reported to be in a critical condition.

ABC/24 stated that the person shot was on the "list" and had his passport revoked not long ago.

I'd say they went to nab him, he panicked, stuff went down.

And no.. I don't recall this level of response over anything before, part of me hopes it's justified action to curtail a real threat.. but my common sense and knowledge of the greater agenda say's otherwise.

what's worse.. is our current gov.. more so than any before, is hated, mistrusted and largely at odds with the common man with their core policy decisions. In this climate there are no shortage of "threats" towards our dear *TEAM* leader.. many of them justified venting from a scared population confused as to why we suddenly became corporate whipping slaves. This *threat* is largely convenient for a government loosing ground on an hourly basis.

It's a tactic we saw overseas.. and sadly boasted "that'd never happen here"

Well we can boast all we want.. but we are being assaulted on two fronts now, one from a distant land full of veiled boogeymen who want us dead for who we are and another to our very existence/culture from local political fatcats with overfilling back pockets and money trails leading to nefarious organizations and mining conglomerates.. filling that back pocket.. with our money.. stolen from our less fortunate.

And in that environment.. Comes the crackdown, obviously and predictably "for our safety"

Can't wait to hear all the new "laws" about to be unleashed.. can't wait for the Aussie version of the TSA, new border force anyone?? .. they rolled that out over 3 months ago.. with a wizbang (drone) command center too!

This is not about Abdula and his camels and their plans for us.. This has been creeping ever since we let big ears and his *team* into power.. anyone that watches Question time must have noticed the smirks on their faces every time they push further and get away with it, arrogance does not a country lead.. just because you can.. never means you should.. but our gov have lost whatever touch they had with the common man, Our budget was penned under the advice of a rich spinster living in the north shore of sydney.. that was even used as a point to justify the uglyness of their policy's.. my point here is that they are so out of touch they just keep digging even when they try to connect.

They have no qualms pushing someone else's ideals on us my only question is... what was the price.. and do you still think it was worth it?

There may be terrorists here.. they may be planing something.. but so far all i've seen is what i wrote above.. and im a man of tangible fact.. and the fact is, we are being wound up so tight we forget everything else.. and anyone not being wound up.. must be anti Team-australia.. therefore.. must be a terrorist.

Convenient bogymen are convenient

Yeah i'm guessing the police went to apprehend the person or question him and he reacted violently injuring two police officers. The reaction to this violence was met with violence.

Trust me. Aussie police are not like American police. Even with the increased terror threat level.

I definitely don't agree with his politics but that being said, I don't wish physical harm to him or his family. I just think it's strange that we all are being spied on in our homes yet they don't even protect him properly. It also gives terrorists the idea that the WH is so easily accessable. Next time it may be 60 prepared terrorists who storm the WH instead of one psychologically disturbed, harmess guy.

Well here's the reality. His house was searched a couple of hours before he was shot. He voluntarily went to the station to meet these officers. He took 2 knives with him. He stabbed an officer in the face, throat and neck. The other officer had wounds on his forearm. I guess these were defensive. I would shoot to kill I someone was trying to cut my head off.

Not at all. The muslim communities here are outraged that we dared to raid houses of people suspected of plotting to behead a random person off the street. They think it is an attack on them, and not making sure we don't have a repeat of what happened in the UK.

This kid had stated that he considers the federal police, police in general, nothing more than dogs to be destroyed. He was just stupid enough, luckily, to take his filthy ideology out in haste, and not plan it out better.

Unless you mean choreographed from the muslim fundamentalists to bring yet more distrust between the infidels and the holy warriors.

I'd actually agree with that.

talk about a martyr. let the evil outrageous infidel slaughter an innocent 'kid' for nothing substantial, see how evil the great satan is, we must be vigilant in our ways because they will kill us on the streets, brothers.

etc blah rah.
