ugh....plenty. that very first one was a doozy. hence the lack of sleep for a couple days. nowadays, it all depends on whether or not I'm actively trying to induce an OBE or if I slip into one passively. it can be very peaceful and or fun when I'm trying to phase into one. If it happens on its own though and if I can catch it in time then usually I can control it and not slip into sleep paralysis. if not, we'll then sometimes it goes full SP on me and it's very uncomfortable, unpleasant and very malicious feeling. Not sure why that is, sometimes I wonder if it's just a fear response. I generally try to keep it positive, as I think it should be.

Yea the sleep paralysis is the worst part, but that's the bit I need to get to, from there I tear myself out which can be a struggle though.

its a very fine line when you reach the SP stage. too much effort will end the SP causing me to wake up and too little will cause me to pass right back out. its that razors edge that you are upon while in SP, and if you can maintain it...well then watch out, things can get interesting. it sure is a trip!

It's still called astral projection (AP) and also OBE (out of body experience.)

I have always had the natural ability to have lucid dreams, since as far back as I can remember. I had a few OBE's as a kid and was pretty freaked out by them, luckily my mom knew what was happening and explained it to me. My best friend and her father are able to AP and she would do it all the time, I was jealous, lol.

Then at the age of 25 I had a near death experience (NDE) and ever since I've been astral projecting multiple times per week, sometimes multiple times per day. After 11 years of figuring out what was happening to me, I created a ritual that works for me going OBE, consciously and fully awake.

Embrace it, don't be afraid of it and don't let others make you afraid. Everyone has the ability to AP, some people are just more gifted at it, either from family bloodlines or NDE experiences like mine. There so much to the universe that human don't understand, this is one of those things. I know when it happens to me that it's a positive experience.

Thanks to all who replied.

There was a reason I asked if anyone had a bad experience while OBE or AP. I did, but not like what was described here.

The last time I went AP something happened. I was out and free and enjoying myself like usual, when I felt like I wasn't alone. I never saw anything clearly. It was more like a shadow. But it was big and dark and I felt very uneasy about it. It was fast, very fast. I discovered quickly that I could go as fast and maneuver as well as it did. It became a game of tag to me. But I had the feeing that this game could have consequences. I got cocky and brave and started playing games like I was invincible or something. Then it was all around me, just like that. The only place I didn't see dark was straight up so that is where I went. I shot home as quickly as I could and never looked back but I knew it was behind me the whole time. When I awoke, I was absolutely drenched in sweat, breathing hard, and shaking. I have had nightmares before, but nothing ever had a physical affect on me like this did. I feel in my heart it was not a dream.

I don't know what it was. But I have the fear that it is there waiting for me.
