I have been participating in a thread and under one of my replies it says:

DIV Definition / DIV Means
The definition of DIV is "Stupid person"

This is not part of my post because I can't edit it out.

Am I to assume a board member tagged my reply for purposes unknown to me?

Peace

Is that why I can't fix a backward slash in the bottom of my comment?
It's there all in blue under the things I post..
Look it's where the word monkeys appears...

I'd just put monkeys... as I should
But it ain't happening....

It looks like some type of HTML error.

A div is a tag used in HTML programming, just a guess, but perhaps there is a glitch in the code and it's generating an error of some sort indicating there's is an 'extra DIV' in the code.

If you'll look at my signature, you'll notice I ran into something similar. There should be a " ' " where you see a " * " in the author's name. I redid it at least 20 times trying to figure out what I was doing wrong... I never did.

I can only guess that it's some kind of coding error but I have no clue. It's weird.

O thank goodness...
I know I was a little lit yester morning before flying...

But I worked on that 20 or so times myself....
It would not compute!

Maybe you're right, it's just weird that in this thread I have taken a very controversial stand and I stepped on quite a few toes, especially some moderators.

A response from the administration would be very much appreciated.

If you "quote" that entire post, does the "extra DIV" show up in the new box?

If not, why not is the question.

go back to that post.

then click on "quote".

then see if the "extra DIV" is in the quoted area at the bottom.

I bet it has something to do with quoting a "MOD" quote.

I don't see the "[ /mod ]"

something is ajar.

I guess definitely something html.

That is weird, the div for your signature isnt wrapped in the post div...

Its wrapping in your other posts tho... I have no idea other than a bug either with that post.

I guess that could be it...unfortunately I have passed the time window to edit the post so I can't change it anymore...

Maybe a moderator can change it, see what happens.

Thanks all for looking into it.

Found it!

It is actually the [mod] in that post that isn't followed by a [/mod] that produces the extra DIV....

Peace

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

like this..

A div or tag is generally used in a CSS Cascading Style Sheet remotely called into the HTML page, if one of the greater than or less than signs is missing the HTML page thinks it is text and displays it so. Sometimes you get these little gremlins when you call in several different style sheets. You could have one for moderators, a different one for printing, different browsers, different devices. etc. Sometimes you can reload a page and it will go away, other times you can make yourself crazy chasing it down.

BTW the page you view this post on calls in about a dozen CSS for several reasons.
