Dangerous Question ever asked by ATS User

Are ATS threads get checked by US government,
my old friend said to me that, one person lost his microsoft job for posting controversy thread in ATS site, sorry
i dont have reference to it...
wikipedia of Above top secret is showing "Jared Lee Loughner" posted "controversy\violent" thread,so this threads landed him in jail,
one my final question is: if i post controversy\violent thread, will i lose job & at same time land me in jail

Jared Loughner's threads/posts didn't land him in jail. His shooting spree and murder rampage did. Big difference.

As far as it landing you in hot water. I guess it depends on your job and what you post. If you post stupid shiite it's liable to end with you knee deep in it.

Do you inform your employer that you are posting under your username, rocking a Darth Vader avatar and asking why we don't kill all animals?? That might not be a good idea.

If you don't inform them, how will they know?

If you post like you have some common sense, you won't have anything to worry about.

Being as we all use fake names, unless you specifically say anything about you & your job, no one should know who you are

Yet at the same time, don't post anything that can come back to bite you in the azz
Once on the internet, it's there forever

Just stay anonymous and don't state anything specific about what you do or who you are

Oh and certain code words may get flagged by the MIB

common sense would do the trick.

BUT

Being that this site is predominantly filled with Europeans and Americans....no. Nothing will happen since we have learned to hear each other out without having to act on the words or opinions of others. (mostly)

That said. If you are dumb you will lose any job. Internet or no internet.

If you criticize your employer and post information that only you would know or post information about yourself as well...You could lose a Job. Duh.

I would fire you if you were collecting the money I pay you and then on your free time were undermining the very business that gives you money to pay your bills and feed yourself. If you crap where you eat bad things tend to happen.

The government wont kill you or even bother the average person though. That is not what their JOB is. We dont pay them our taxes for that service (yet).

We pride ourselves that even with our most intrusive and out of control governments to date, that we can still speak freely and unhindered without fears of the power elite crushing us.

The west is doing ok thanks to that.

Okay....

Basically, use common sense

Don't make any kind of threats towards any group of people, no matter what--even ATS Mods don't put up with that

Your opinions are okay

Just be polite & diplomatic when discussing/debating touchy subjects and if ever get angry, push back and take a break
Some topics can get heated & the trolls will try to lure you in
Stay away from personal attacks--attack the topic not the poster if possible

If you get plagued with trolls, I have just the solution

No. That post will not cost you your job or land you in jail. You will see much worse than that if you stay here long enough. I've said much, much, worse and so have many others. Don't go around telling folks who you are, don't make threats on anyone's life (especially the president) don't make threats in general and you'll be ok. The FBI is not watching threads like that. There is not near enough manpower to police the entire net looking for one post from you.

Like I said above... YOU (or us) ARE NOT that important.

No threats. No problems. It's that simple.

Its not that big a deal, ISIS is a dumb little group that will die off eventually like all violent murders do. Dont sweat it.

If you are PROMOTING them then still no, though that makes you a little dumb. Most people in the world will have a problem with your defense of ISIS if that is the case.

If you dont support ISIS most people will be fine with that and you wont even have to deal with insults.

As far as your employer...is it ISIS? If not then you should be fine.

If it is...then you may lose your head and not just your job.
