That's why it's quite ignorant of American fans and commentators to call it anything than its real name, 'The Open Championship'. They probably do it to differentiate the U.S. Open and The Open, but it still is a disrespectful use of title. Kind of like how some English speaking countries don't use a nation or a cities real name (Brasil to Brazil for example, or even Roma to Rome).
