The only main source I'm seeing is that site. Not so sure about it, can only be certain sites going down. Could expect social media to go down to stop communication from suspects to many people sharing what they are witnessing.

See I'm leaning towards joke. But I did notice google comes up with results. So perhaps certain areas will have a planned outage and others won't. The times range from 2:00 AM to 6 PM. I'm gathering the time is in Eastern Standard Time as posters have pointed out it's already the 11th where they are. For us on the Eastern US Coast it's 9:45 PM.

So I guess, if any members experience outages starting at 2 AM EST, or find that their areas will be affected by planned outages throughout tomorrow, to reply here.

For instance, here BGE, Baltimore Gas and Electric, lists a planned outage on 9/11/2014 for 9:00 AM. It is to last for 5496. I'm gathering minutes.

BGE OutageLists

The Google search results for "planned outage september 11, 2014":

Google Results

They mention several planned outages throughout the day (Sep 11, 2014).

Thank you for sharing this, as you never know what may happen. It's good to have it in mind in case something does. It's still the 10th where I am, I'm on Eastern Standard Time, and on the East Coast. If I experience an outage, or if I don't, I'll reply here to this thread when I'm able too.

Did you even look at your own source?
It's a maintainence upgrade for the dense idiot who wrote this piece. He enclosed a screenshot at the bottom of the page, stating that was the case and even circled it in red to prove it.

These happen all the time , it's why they do it overnight so people are asleep not bitching they couldn't do their work or banking.

IT IS NOT A DRILL OR SHUTDOWN TO THE ENTIRE NATION

Just his neighbourhood while they fix or upgrade wiring, or whatever needs doing.

Who has been harmed the most since the internet has been popular? That's right, cats. If I were a cat I would be totally pissed that I was made fun of on a daily basis. Just something to consider when attempting to finger the culprits. Anyway, after reading the linked material I have a feeling this is just that guy's ISP. This has happened to me in the past, and the 2am time for the shutdown is consistent with maintenance work, as they do it when less people are online. Just the other day we had a planned power outage, even though I didn't get the message, and they did it when most people would be at work. Generally with the internet they don't give a timeframe, or at least my ISP doesn't, but I think they have occasionally. They usually just say it will be back on within the day, and on one occasion they said it could be 48 hours...although they seem to quote the high end of the spectrum as it usually takes far less time. That is my take on this anyway. So either cats or general maintenance.

If you read the article you'll see this guy inquired about an outage in his area and then researched it further. Then he "unearthed" the other planned outages across the country.

I find it highly coincidental and kind of creepy various groups are cutting the internet tomorrow.

We have UC San Diego:

UC San Diego Network Status

University of Iowa:

University Of Iowa Alerts And Outages

Michigan State University:

MSU Service Status

Baltimore Gas & Electric is planning an outage for tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM. Lasting 5,496 minutes (it can't be hours according to the chart)

BGE Planned Power Outages

St. Croix Electric is planning an outage tomorrow morning from 10:00 AM to noon for 32 separate accounts. This is understandable and I can't see anything conspiratorial with their explanation. What could 32 separate paying households witness from 10:00 to noon on River Drive in Kinnickinnic Township? I'm gathering not much except a tree being removed. I put this here because it proves this most likely is doom porn. However, I think it's strange there are multiple planned outages, so I listed the ones I've found so far.

St. Croix Electric Will Cut Power To Remove A Tree

90/10. That's how I'm divided. 90% sure it's doom porn, 10% is a slight possibility. It's coincidental, the author discovered multiple planned outages in various regions from his first inquiry concerning his ISP. Like a true reporter he gathered the facts. And like a true reporter he also sensationalized. It reads like a tabloid.

That has to be a typo or something. It's hard to believe they would shut it down for over 91 hours, that's almost 4 days.

Well power must be cut if there's construction happening, that could cause issues. Internet services or cable all changing to something new at the same time is not unusual. There's some new things going around like the battle for the Internet ATS is participating in and the incoming CME's. Perhaps they need to safeguard for these?

I put that there because I wondered the same thing. That's very strange to me.

violet: I agree, as the St. Croix listing proves. It's a safety issue, trees, equipment or men could fall onto the live wires and cause injuries, deaths or fires. Plus I can't see how cutting 32 house's juice points to conspiracy. Their explanation is understandable.

But for the others, it's strange. Unless they are aware of something we're not (and I mean the way higher ups not a company-wide conspiracy involving even Tom, the mailroom worker) it's strange to me.

Then again, I'm very, very open to this being doom porn. It's not the first time and it won't be the last.

If i recall correctly there is not going to be any shutdown of service. This is an effort to make attention for the undoing of net neutrality. The big sites who are for net neutrality like google netfix amazon are going to put a banner on the side that shows how slow the sites could load once net neutrality is fully removed.

I'm open to that possibility with ISPs but would electric companies cut power to protest net neutrality?

Perhaps seconds? If so, that would be 91.6 minutes...
(5496/60 seconds = 91.6 minutes) .. a little over an hour and a half. Seems reasonable, I guess.

Hmm. Highly unlikely. But I am feeling all woo-woo today already.

Had a strange moment yesterday during my daily meditations of an exchange with some sort of intelligence describing some future events- which I take with a grain of salt. But at the least, it could indicate some sense of alert in my own subconscious for some reason. (this is not something that happens to me regularly, it has happened once every seven years roughly).

Also this is a big day for me personally that I have been waiting for because there was a big meeting called for today at my work (my only day off this week) in which a huge announcement will be made. I have no idea what it will be, and it certainly won't effect anyone anywhere else- I just mean to say, there are moments when "change is in the air" everywhere, at the same time. All kinds of transformations. Perhaps collective consciousness just has moments of twist. Our meeting is at 2:30 this afternoon. And I see this morning about the flares, and that reinforces this sense of change.

Could be positive though- I don't feel doom-ish. Just curious....
