Female fighters of Kurdish Peshmerga are the greatest enemy of ISIS

“We are equal with the men,” said Zekia Karhan, 26, a female guerrilla from Turkey who is with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, known as the PKK. “Every responsibility for a man is the same for a woman. We are treated equally, and that is why we are fighting.”

Islamic State fighters “are very scared of death because they are only here to kill people,” she said. “I don’t mind doing it over and over again. I’ve already fought in Turkey, Iran and Syria.”

Nobody knows if there is heaven or hell,” Karhan said. “How can they know they will get 27 virgins? To me Kurdistan is heaven and Kurdish women are angels. Heaven is no place for terrorists.”

Refreshing to see women in Middle east fighting for their rights , Kurds should really get their homeland and have the independence they well deserve. they really got my respect when they rescued the Yazidis by breaking the Siege in Mount Senai

I for one hope after all is said and done the Kurds define their own state and are able to defend it. The whole region should have been at least three states to begin with instead of one state called Iraq... Or so those who know much more than me seem to say....S^F and hope those girls live

I for one am glad 'the Kurdish' men and women are fighting for their survival.

Anyone who puts a major hurting on ISIS are awesome in my book. They've been able to hold their own and take ground while the fully equipped Iraqi army turn tail and run often leaving ISIS with new weapons and needed war supplies.

I'm glad those ISIS fighters who see a female with a weapon s# themselves.

While I think war is abhorrent (as it should be) I am quite glad to see that the Kurdish women are being treated as equal in the defense of their land.

I agree with you. And the Kurdish people, as a whole, have had it rough. But they are a strong and determined people (also strikingly beautiful) who wish to preserve their lifestyle. And that is something worth defending. Godspeed to the Kurdish people!

I think this is fantastic - Well, as fantastic as a story about war can get.

I wanted to make a joke about how I'd be scared of an angry woman too or how we should put these ladies in an elevator with Ray Rice - That'll teach him, but even I know the time to be respectful and wish these brave women the best of luck fighting ISIS.
