Thanks,
I think the poster was correct about it being a huntsman/rain spider.

Evilus Bastardus Spider that is.
Sent a shiver down my spine that did...but don't ever kill them they are really good for your house.

Any spider near my house, is not good for my house. They get the ninja hand as soon as they're spotted.

Here's a picture of an unidentified species of Huntsman spider found in Johannesburg.

Please tell me for scale purposes it is sitting on a toothpick or at worst a pencil.

I'd run.

That's one monster spider. You could mount that and hang it on your wall for show.

Burn it with fire. Then move out just to be sure.

Dammit! Stop being afraid of spiders!! They do good things and even if they didn't, they're part of the chain of life that keeps us all here and healthy.

Leave them alone. If you don't want them in your house, put them gently outside, but this talk of killing them is childish foolishness. They might very well be killing things in your house that you can't see, that are far more dangerous to your health... after all, no being is going to spend time in an area where there is no food...

That's the rare African face-raping spider. Seal your mouth with duct-tape and plug your nostrils with marshmallows when dealing with these guys. The only way to get rid of them is to play Justin Bieber music at excessive volume for prolonged periods.

Well the one that ante posted was in fact a face hugger from aliens, no doubt about it.

And I agree, if you don't have to kill the spider, then it really will help ya out with other unwanted things.
My mom would never kill one and it rubbed off on me, not quite as bad her but I will let them live as long as they don't run across my feet.

I think you have it wrong. I love spiders. The only spiders that's not welcome in my house are the sac and violin spider.

I am trying to find out what specie the spider in OP is
