In the Holographic Universe, there does not necessarily need to be anyone "running the projector/matrix". The idea that the world we perceive as 3D space actually being just 2D information could just be the way nature/the universe works. This idea requires no intelligent being (or god) to be running things behind the scenes.

It also implies that there could be an infinite number of such "information universes," each, perhaps, with its own hyper-geometry.
