You see, that's the problem with you TPers. Anyone who disagrees with you or calls you out on your BS is automatically a leftist, progressive, or liberal. It is beyond your ken that people can have diverse political opinions beyond your limited 2 sided left/right spectrum.

Here's a little news flash. I've never voted for a Democrat, socialist, or other left leaning candidate. I think beyond the two sided BS you TPers continue to hold fast to. I don't see crap as black and white like you do. I am not an absolutist. I believe in the rule of reason, not emotional knee jerking to any change that challenges one's pre-held beliefs.

Let me fill you in on a few things. There are millions of Americans who loathe the Tea Party that aren't liberal. One doesn't have to be a leftist to be disgusted by the Tea Party. Anyone with a brain a conscience, an understanding of the Founding Fathers and the Constitution, a respect for science and fact, and a belief in the freedom and dignity of all people would despise the Tea Party. Anyone who holds a live and let live attitude towards people different from themselves, and believes the government should do the same, would find the TP vile. Anyone who is filled with compassion, love, forgiveness, charity, wisdom, and courage would find the Tea Party revolting.

Ultimately, anyone who wants to be left alone to live their lives in their own way without involvement from the government or self appointed "moral authorities" would find the Tea Party loathsome. And one doesn't have to be a liberal for that.

Nothing. Unless you're a fanatic Right Winger. For them anyone who isn't exactly the same type of Conservative as themselves is Liberal, Subhuman, Progressive, Communist Scum. But they Hate everyone else just as bad too. They even hate on other Right Wingers if they aren't leaning as far Right as themselves too.

But that is also to be expected since Progressive is about Change, which is exactly what Conservatives Hate and Fear. What they haven't realized however, is change is unavoidable everything is constantly changing.

They will of course have a completely alternative version of what Progressive means too. Just like they define every other political position in their own way as well.

The terms liberal and progressive are used by the far right as the worst of insults, the epitome of every evil and bad thing they find in the world.

Personally, I don't think liberals or progressives are good or bad. I tend to be indifferent towards them, unless they go off into the extreme left. The worst thing I have found about liberals and progressives is not that they are sinister, evil, or have some wicked agenda to rule the world. The worst things about them are that they tend to be rather naive about human nature and the world at large, and can treat their own beliefs similar to a religion, like the climate change people or the health nazis. Just like I don't want to be forced to live by a religious system that is at odds with my own moral compass, I don't want some self righteous do-gooder in the government to start banning or outlawing things for "my own good".

Beyond that, however, my experience with progressives is that while they may be way out of the ball park on some things, their hearts really are in the right place. They tend to be people who are genuinely bothered by the problems and suffering of others, and want to do something to help people and make the world a better place. They just go about it wrong.

I can't say that for most of the right wing I have dealt with. There are those that are good people in their ranks with respectable, intelligent, and thoughtful people. However, currently, they are being shouted down by the peddlers of hate, fear, and hypocrisy.

Libertarian? The only people I've heard using the word Libertarian as an insult are right wingers, due to the fact that Libertarians believe in a total hands off policy of everything, including:

1. Cannabis
2. Abortion and Birth Control
3. Sexuality and Marriage
4. Gambling
5. Family
6. Warfare and International conflict
7. Drugs

The only things the right and the Libertarians agree on is free market capitalism, taxation, reduction in government, and guns. But since Libertarians are in a class of their own, and could care less what the left or right think of them (as well as actively opposing the left AND the right), if someone accused me of being Libertarian, I'd actually take it as somewhat a compliment.

Being called a Tea Party supporter would certainly be an insult as far as I am concerned in the same way being called a Klansman would be.
