Cell phone video of South Carolina cops beating the tar out of a guy in Walmart while shoppers beg them to stop punching him.

Why do cops feel like it is ok to just punch someone in head 20 times after tasing him.

This is never ok, just cuff him and take him to jail, you absolutely don't have to beat the shyt out of the guy.

I swear they just like to beat people up for fun.

According to Greenville County Master Deputy Jonathan Smith, a second deputy tasered the man when he resisted arrest. In the video, officers can be seen wrestling with the man on the ground as one officer repeatedly punches the man in the head as one shopper can be heard saying, “Please don’t punch him like that. Please don’t. Don’t punch him no more

Well, the head punching was totally uncalled for, but the guy looked to be resisting to me.
Those cops could have taken care of it without beating the guy, geez.

Peace.

This police brutality and militarization needs to be brought to a halt, but once again we cannot use the face of a criminal or a drug user as a rallying point. Pay attention to the fact that that is a white guy, it's not about race. If we put aside the racial agendas some bottom feeders like to push we can move forward on solving the problem.

ETA Black, White , Rep, or Dem. this is OUR problem to fix together. Thanks AD.

Also, Obama supporters need to realize he is the one authorizing the programs that give military surplus/weapons to the cops.

FYI, that program started in the 1990's.

This video clearly shows a mental illness. Of the police officer. This police brutality seems to be what the LEO feel is their right.

What's unfortunate is this treatment would have most people defend themselves and then they would be resisting arrest. This man being under the influence is probably the only thing that saved him from fighting.

Resistance should not be allowed to be used as a catch all any longer. Clearly these officers need better LEO and moral training.

"Also, Obama supporters need to realize he is the one authorizing the programs that give military surplus/weapons to the cops. "

"Faced with a bloated military and what it perceived as a worsening drug crisis, the 101st Congress in 1990 enacted the National Defense Authorization Act. Section 1208 of the NDAA allowed the Secretary of Defense to “transfer to Federal and State agencies personal property of the Department of Defense, including small arms and ammunition, that the Secretary determines is— (A) suitable for use by such agencies in counter-drug activities; and (B) excess to the needs of the Department of Defense.” It was called the 1208 Program. In 1996, Congress replaced Section 1208 with Section 1033."

Its being said the guy appeared to be drunk or high on something but there is no excuse for this kind of reaction. This was mid day also and probably witnessed by many people old and young.
The officer is on administrative leave but he needs his job taken.

I expect there to be protests and riots because of this.........

*crickets, crickets*

Just saying

If the lack of response from the public doesnt make it clear the agenda behind some of these things , then I dont know what does......

I am waiting for the public to start jumping in on some of these. What that officer did was attempted murder plain and simple. You punch someone in the head repeatedly no less the back of the head while someone else holds their arms to keep them from defending themselves. Lets call it what it is. I am no doctor but I imagine the list is long on injuries.

Military surplus equipment does not equal beating someone senseless after they are cuffed.

Police are supposed to be well trained in holds and immobilization techniques, blows to the head is neither of those. It seems like too many cops like to use an arrest as an excuse of using their MMA training on a subject.

This program that allows LEO's to get this stuff has been happening since 1997 actually and Obama is looking into it.

It's known as the 1033 Program

Obama orders review of giving local police military gear

Of course, just because he's looking into it doesn't mean anything will change but I guess we will see.

Or maybe you're just saying that a.. *ahem* certain segment of the population is entirely too complacent?

So, it's not about race... it's about partisan politics?

How about we put aside race AND partisan political agendas? Clearly Obama has nothing to do with a local SC cop punching a suspect in the head 20 times.

Honestly... Since he wasn't physical with the cops other than pulling away a little... I hope the guy was going through diabetic shock. He was taken to the hospital so it would be looked at anyway. That way these cops will get hit REAL hard for assaulting this guy.

yeah, restraint by handcuffs, that's why they have them on their belts.... that should be the number one goal of officers who have a guy on the ground like this.....let's face it, cops love to beat the s**t out of people, makes them look tough in front of other officers, and let's not forget all the TV shows and movies that show this on a constant basis. we are only now seeing it all over the nation, due to everyone having camera phones....if enough people started video clipping every police action, it might be the only thing that finally restrains them.

I think it is already too late, we will have to deal with these scenarios for years to come.
