There are AT(i), what I was, and AT(o). The I stands for intermediate maintenance, the O organizational. O's generally go to the squadron and do not have to take I strand in A school. I's go into a work center where we perform Intermediate level maintance, which is often component and not that much different than Depot(expect we could not re-engineer avionics gear).

O level is easier because their job is to figure what piece of avionics is malfunctioning. That item is then sent to I level, the ATi's for us to trouble shoot and fix if possible. If it was beyond our capable maintenance then is goes to Depot. We had pretty good capability on most of our gear and often would replace transistors and IC chips(69B does the soldering, I was in 610(COM/NAV) which was broken down into 61A, 61B, 61C, and 61D(the COMSEC vault).

I mostly worked on the AIC-22, also known as MCBs or master control boxes. Ask anyone who was in a 610 Work center that services P-3s, they will know what a MCB is.

What google? I pointed out correctly that you were a junior enlisted AT that did intermediate maintance. Simple and easy and no google required. A failed ATAN does not hold any mysterious secrets. The skill set and responsibilities are simple, not that secret even in the patrol community much less rear end maintainers, and are pretty easy to explain.

As for manhood--the proof is on the pudding. I don't have to take food stamps to eat, much less my kids.(please don't have kids). I don't whine and cry when things get bad--I put on my big boy pants and get things done. Who is the man? Hmm--a whiny child who haven't moved out of adolescence who blames everyone else for his shortcomings, lives on the dole, and works for--what was your word? Oh yes--slave wages from his own brother because his own brother cannot even see him as being worth anything more than "slave wages" and, well, pretty much everyone else. What I also don't doubt is that you were a junior enlisted AT who had a narcissistic attitude who got bad evals and got kicked out after a DUI and refusal to cooperate with an offered chance to rehabilitate that he rejected and then got what he wanted--an early out that hurt his dream job chances and now he leeches off his brother and the taxpayer while he whines about how unfair life is and how everything wrong in his life is everyone else's fault but his own.

The magic smoke is trapped in the vault stuff really well, that gear has a very low failure rate and our maintance was pretty much limited to popping and swapping circuit cards. Can't say the same for MCBs....

We had O-scopes, waveform generators and all kinds of diagnosis tools.

I am not leaching off my brother. He has to get about 3000 badges printed tomorrow so I will take the $10 an hour to do grunt work so they can be shipped out. You want me to give you the CO of that companies name to ask what kind of worker he thinks I am? Small business and when they have a big project they sub-contract out the grunt work.

If I am leaching off anyone it is my girlfriend, she keeps me around for something. No complaints from her.

I do not need money to live and not scared of hard work. Food Stamps are just keep me from doing illegal things to eat, like slaughter manatees.

Anyone who's been in any branch of service can answer that one for you. Talk about inefficiency, waste, fraud and abuse. Hell, you can barely get military healthcare while you're in the military. I shudder to imagine American society if the government had any more responsibility than it has now.

Yes, the military is a necessary evil which governments need to be in charge of in order for military ops to be done officially. Accountability is what it's about. However the military does not run at a profit or even near it, it is waste personified, by necessity.

Now, the current governmental model being pushed by so many in this country would have the US government run everything in society. Guarantee everyone a living wage, a nice place to live, healthcare. No job?, 5 kids?, no problem!!! I'm beginning to wonder whether all these "basic human rights" are so basic. Running water, electricity, healthcare, food, free education? That's a nice life for someone that literally doesn't even work.
