We seperate ideology or a political party in the political spectrum. In a straight political spectrum theres the Left and Right wing and the extremeness or radicalness is never ending. Is it right to define an ideology or political party in a line spectrum?

There is another spectrum where the line is actually joined to make a circle. The left isnt as far to the right as you expect. They are really close. For example - Mussolini was a first a socialist (left) but became a fascist (right). All he removed as a few of his ideological beliefs. This in turned made his change.

An ideology or political party can never be in the middle of any spectrum so is it even worth having one because it will always shift a little to the right, back to the left, then right etc.

The political spectrum I believe is useless in defining where something goes. I believe it all comes down to opinion. Eg -

Left (Communism) - Right (Fascism)
Left (Totalitarianism- Fascism?) - Right (Liberalism)

The Nazis were the National Socialist Party at first (left) but what they did was complete right.

Not that simple i'm afraid,

the SA were the left wing element of the NSDAP (nazi party) but during the Night of the Long Knives the leader of the SA (Rohm) was killed thus crippling the left wing element of the NSDAP.

Before and after the Night of the Long Knives the NSDAP was nationalistic (assocaited with right wing) and in favour of massive totalitarian changes (extreme left and right).

The pre-night of the long knives Nazis were a weird extreme right wing party with a strong hint of socialistic values.

It is also commonly believed that if the night of the long knives had never took place then a SA would have taken power resulting in a freaky left wing (not communist) extremist party.

Hope that helps
