August - Dog Days of Disgust

You finally get to that point of no return sometimes . . . full of distrust,
brought on by your years of failing . . . to adjust,
to the system. And the system has taken you on heady ride, you had hopes and dreams that have pretty much died . . now.
So it's August and it's hot, and things haven't changed as you . . thought . . . they might. And definitely not for the good.
But you thought they would . . .change . . .didn't you ?

And the wars continue and the people die . . . all of us praying . . . and asking "why" . . . does it have to be like this ?

Is there anything we can trust ? It's so unjust . . . isn't it ? The blood-lust thrust of a decaying society.

August sawdust . . . blowing away . . . in a wind gust . . .of antitrust.

Let that thundercloud bust . . . over me and my ideals . . . I feel the need to rust . . .in place.

Political change has slowed down, the elites no longer have any rational justification for their actions or their positions in power, their publicly stated ideologies are so fragile they topple over with the slightest breeze of insight or criticism. This Indicates that ideologies, philosophies, reasons, were never of primary importance. Keeping and holding power IS of primary importance, everything else simply serves both to hide and justify their hold on power.

Yet, since they no longer have reasons or ideologies that people are willing to accept, they have to resort to force, but force never lasts, especially when they can't rationally justify their actions to the public. Eventually when they run out of capital and wealth, their grasp on the levers of power will weaken and they will eventually let go.

Do you understand why nobody ever beats the casinos??
Because you are playing by their rules in their house, and the house always wins.
Religion is no different!
There are biblical scholars that search text and parchment all of their lives only to die clueless, even if they can recite the complete works of all of the holy books verbatim.
Consider this, what if it is all lies designed to control the masses???
Stop praying and playing nice and start fighting.
With the state of the world and thousands of years and billions of souls praying, yet the world still goes to the evil men.
Maybe, just maybe prayer is a lie and it does not work.
Fight!

I like the way you write.
I like the thoughtful responses to your...thoughts, as well.
"...years of failing to adjust...to the system."
Yeah - you could be labeled 'discontent', 'malcontent', 'anti-social', 'watch-list-candidate', 'rebel' ...whatever!...but even the system you were supposed to adjust to...changes daily.
All those labels will fade with each new wash cycle.
I kind of like what g146541 said - "Stop praying and playing nice and start fighting."
Unfortunately (or not - who knows?) - we might very well end up fighting each other...just because one of our feet got stuck on the other side of an issue.
But - maybe it would be worth it...just to put an end to this current system's debauchery.
