Found this and thought it to be funny, too:

Let’s make guns more like cars.
- You have to carry insurance at a cost of $1000/yr or more.
- You have to be licensed.
- Guns have to be titled and recorded with the state.
- Guns must have a conspicuous license number displayed on them, which must be renewed yearly at a cost of $100 or more.
- Guns have to have multiple redundant safety devices like seat belts and airbags.
- You need a key to operate your gun.
- Every aspect of gun production and sale would be heavily regulated.
- Guns would be recalled if they have defects.
- Guns should have a counter to show how many times it has been fired and that number has to be reflected on the title whenever a gun is transferred.
- We would have a new federal agency dedicated to gun safety and reducing gun deaths.
- You would have to present your gun periodically for inspections to make sure it is not a danger to the environment.

Thats BS. Teach your kids, show them firearm safety. The neighbors kids might not have "gun locks".

Teach them what to do when Joey down the street asks your son, "Wanna see Dads' gun?".

You can hide keys to locks but curiousness will kill the cat, they say. Satisfy their curiosity with Adult Supervision so when they are alone they won't "sneak".

Because they will.

They're kids.

Imo, this ad is designed to roundabout prevent "Gun Violence" by making it difficult to defend yourself with them. What good is a gun if you can't use it to defend yourself?

Might as well bury them in the backyard.

And how does this work if criminals get their hands on it? Just like a car thief that goes on a joyride and kills someone. The license plate did nothing. The airbags did nothing-for the person who got hit. The keys did nothing. The odometer did nothing. Just more BS to perpetuate the illusion of safety. I know what your getting at, but society needs to change before gun laws do.
