The pope calls for peace and it is still not good enough for members here. What the hell is wrong with people that they have to take a stand against someone calling for peace? He is just asking for people to stop dying, why take issue with that?

People being people.

Matters more to most who and what he is than what he actually says or does.
Sad and undeniably human state of affairs.

There are many things the Pope could talk about. Lot's of things going on in the world right now.

So I think he did the best thing he could have done and that's to simply say...stop. That's it. It's gone on long enough, just stop.

What's wrong with that and why do we have to be negative towards someone that is asking for peace?

"The Catholic Church is the largest charitable organization on the face of the earth the coffers are wide open and have been for 2000 years."

The Vatican and hence Christianity is responsible for a whole lot more than charity im afraid. You may wish to do some research of your own on that score.

"The church could sell every treasure in the Vatican and it wouldn't put a dent in world debt. Now make intelligent comments and don't just bash the Catholic Church because it makes you feel good."

How can you make a statement such as the one above when you have no idea as to the true wealth that these people possess or have accumulated and stashed away over 1000s of years? Do have any idea as to what is contained in their secret archives or any of the other numerous locations, bank accounts or vaults spread throughout our world?

Try making some intelligent comments yourself!
LoL

And it's not just the Roman Catholic Church i have an issue with, that would be organised religion in general. As to me bashing the Catholic Church because it makes me feel good? I'm not even going to entertain that notion considering i always feel good. Especially so with regards to child molesting genocidal control freaks aka the Vatican, i wish i could say the same for their poor victims throughout history!

I actually have a very good idea about the finances of the Church and you have made one of the biggest mistakes most people who have no idea of what they are talking about make in regards to the Churches finances.

1. You do not take into account much of that wealth is in priceless artifacts and are not liquid nor would they be sold even if they were. The reason many of them exist is because the church protected them so that idiot governments didn't destroy or loot them.

2. You forget that the Vatican is its own country with its own monetary system and is required to maintain reserves (including gold) when they switched to the Euro. These reserves are not liquid they must be maintained.

3. There are also extensive trusts that have been setup upon the death of Parishioners, per their requests, to fund certain projects or ministries that the church has and should honor.

Funny how you didn't address the fact that the church is the largest charitable organization in the world and does more on the medical front than even the Red Cross and has been responsible for educating millions all over the world through their education programs.

Hopefully you have a college degree and if you do then think the church because they not only established the first universities, awarded the first degrees but they also setup the very first curriculum requirements that are still followed today.

Simple answer to that statement is that we don't believe a word of it due to past and present Vatican involvement in everything from mass genocide to beasting children. Track record and all that jazz!

Yet you still have no idea as to the Vatican's net worth. That's ok were not privy to their secrets any more than you are!

Yet still indulges in sexual depravity aka beasting children and worshiping Satan? Guess that make all the charity/money laundering ok?

I couldn't care less if it was my next door neighbour Bob that said it, it is the message that matters. Wether you think so or not he is the head of a major religion and he holds sway. Can't you just appreciate the message calling for war to stop and for children to stop dying? Or do you want it to continue?

What i want is neither here nor there i'm afraid. Peace on Earth and goodwill to Mankind I will take any day of the week. Still I don't trust a word that come out the mans mouth Im afraid simply because there is an agenda behind said words.

If you are truly after all that you wouldn't be down playing the importance of him saying it. He called for war to stop and you don't believe him, let me ask you this why do you think he said it? You must have some idea of the "real" reason if you are acting like this.

What about the rest of the wars occurring as we speak all around the globe? If there was any real sincerity behind his words should he not be calling for global peace and nuclear disarmament also? Or is that too much to ask?

How is it that I am acting, i simply don't believe him is that not my prerogative?

Did you even look at the video? His comment was about war in general, did you want him to list off every country?

Or is that too much to ask?

Would it have made a difference since you don't believe him anyway?

Maybe instead of "Pontificating" to the rest of us, he should try and "sway" his priests to clear their ranks of PEDOPHILES that harm children every day...

Stick to that and maybe he will get a little more respect from me...

The Pope said that abuse of children was like "leprosy" infecting the Church, according to the Italian La Repubblica newspaper.

He vowed to "confront it with the severity it demands".

The guy is mostly referring to the war in Palestine, Israel's war! And yes I did indeed watch buster2010s vid(You posted a link to the article, buster2010 embedded it). At no point do I here him call for world peace or nuclear disarmament im afraid.

I belief in God, just not in the Judeo Christian sense of the word or his pedo representatives here on Earth, I don't need a any priest, rabbi or minister to commune with my creator, simple prayer will suffice! Something organised religion could do with appreciating, but then where is there control, eh?

Actually, I believe this Pope has been doing just that, if I'm not mistaken.

The entire point we should be focusing on here is that a person in a high position that many people respect (the Pope) has called for peace. Plain and simple. His calls for peace will be heard by billions of people and that message is very important.

Now you and others can try to obfuscate the issue by throwing in the actions of Catholic priests and such, but it does not take away from the message the Pope is trying to convey....stop, peace please.

If you and others want to simply bow-off that message because of your anti-Catholic stance. That's fine. It will in no way negate the message's meaning or importance to the rest of us that are willing to agree with a call for peace.

Yep someone needs a 'reality' check.

The Federal Reserve System fulfills its public mission as an independent entity within government. It is not "owned" by anyone and is not a private, profit-making institution.

As the nation's central bank, the Federal Reserve derives its authority from the Congress of the United States. It is considered an independent central bank because its monetary policy decisions do not have to be approved by the President or anyone else in the executive or legislative branches of government, it does not receive funding appropriated by the Congress, and the terms of the members of the Board of Governors span multiple presidential and congressional terms.

www.federalreserve.gov...

well...except for that 6% a year earn on interest, that is also mentioned at the bottom of one of your quotes...
The 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks, which were established by the Congress as the operating arms of the nation's central banking system, are organized similarly to private corporations--possibly leading to some confusion about "ownership." For example, the Reserve Banks issue shares of stock to member banks. However, owning Reserve Bank stock is quite different from owning stock in a private company. The Reserve Banks are not operated for profit, and ownership of a certain amount of stock is, by law, a condition of membership in the System. The stock may not be sold, traded, or pledged as security for a loan; dividends are, by law, 6 percent per year.

let's see...6% dividend (interest) on 17 trillion...10% a year works out to 1.7 trillion...1% a year works out to 170 billion, so take that times the 6%, and you get 1.2 trillion a year in interest....uhmm...where does that money go, and do we have a receipt to show who got it?

Wrapping up his regular address to the faithful, the Argentinian-born pontiff spoke of the centenary of the outbreak of the first world war and said his thoughts were on the Middle East, Iraq and Ukraine in particular.

I belief in God, just not in the Judeo Christian sense of the word, I don't need a any priest rabbi or minister to commune with my creator, simple prayer will suffice!

Well then that makes two of us but the importance of this mans call for war to end should be recognized. He isn't some crazy guy standing on a street corner he is the head of the Catholic church.

wonder what life would be like if people didn't have to stab and claw hand over fist while scaling the backs of others just to get to the top?

if it wasn't for money (dominion) we'd all still have the same stake in the same ground.

who has more at stake,

those who just want to live in peace, or

those who want to make people suffer?

But that would be socialism and nobody wants that.

what has sharing common ground with others have to do with socialism? usury and economics is why people suffer.

You really just throw random grossly inaccurate statements against the wall to see if they will stick. Problem is I doubt you are even interesting in knowing the truth or putting in any effort to discover it you simply make a fantasy up in your mind that works in your world and go with it.
